Help Deborah Choose A Rug

Deborah wrote to me in a bit of a shopping/decorating panic.  She’s pretty much got the basics of her little boy’s nursery picked out as shown below, but she just can’t settle on a rug.  She was thinking about a zig zag pattern rug and I came up with a few other options myself.  Let’s help her choose!

Which rug do you like best with the room?

Here are the rest of the items in the space….

1- DwellStudio Crib Set, Owls– $360
2- Dwellstudio Silhouette Frame, Aqua Owl– $40
3- Owl Lamp Nightlight– $49
4- Handknit Blabla Blue Cloud Throw Pillow– $62
5- Hagalund Sofa Bed from Ikea– $480
6- Kartell Componibili Round Tower – Three Doors– $160
7- Pompom Pillow from Urban Outfitters– $24

I’ve done another design with DwellStudio’s Owls bedding so you can find more ideas there as well.  Do YOU have any other decor ideas for Deborah?

New From The Land of Nod

Sigh.  I don’t even know where to begin here.  There is so much new and awesome at The Land of Nod (who I’m happy to have as an affiliate partner), that I truly just don’t want you to miss any of it.  I’m going to have to summarize and only include my favorites, but only if you promise to go see for yourself.

1) Maps and charts

I’ve decided that once we get my youngest into a twin bed, we’re going to add one of these schoolhouse type maps in his room.  There are several maps to choose from, but I’ve got my eye on “Oh, the Places You’ll Learn”.  This United States Pull Down Map goes for $249.

The Periodic Table ($119) may have to go in his older brother’s room at some point as well.

2. Art

The Land of Nod added some of my favorite etsy artists to their art catalog.

They’ve got a few more John W Golden prints including Share Your Toys and Play Nice.

There are two stretched canvases by Marisa Haedike– Keep Your Friends Close and The Buddy System.

I also love Got the World On A String and Bumper to Bumper by Blanca Gomez.

3- Bedding

The Land of Nod has some great new crib bedding collections (with the same designs for kids as well).

For boys, this Construction Zone crib bedding is super fun.  Designed by Winter Water Factory, this 100% organic set is exclusive to The Land of Nod.  The matching throw pillows like the Digger (shown), cement mixer and bulldozer are great additions as well.

The “Wooden Shoes Optional” Crib Bedding Set is a beautiful choice for a baby girl.  The pillow accessories, like the Girls Windmill Throw Pillow are adorable as well.  There’s also a worm, owl and snail.

4. Lighting

You can never have too many nightlight options so I’m excited that The Land of Nod just added two more to their catalog.

The Gnome Lamp Nightlight and Owl Nightlight are cute room decor items both night and day.

I was also really impressed with the catalog’s new format.  The Land of Nod catalog is always my favorite to look through, and now it’s even better.  Have fun shopping!

Etsy Find: Illustrations from TwoEms

These prints of Melenie Mikecz’s illustrations from her etsy shop TwoEms are just my cup of tea.  I love the great colors and bold shapes.  May I have one of each please?

Her animal prints include the Midnight Owl, Underwater Hippo, Turtle and Dragonfly, Good Morning Rooster as well as Purple African Elephant, Hummingbird in the Garden, Patterned Peacock, Colorful Snail and Two Whales.

I’m also very partial to the abstract designs like Abstract Arch Design, Bullseye Geometric Print, and Block Abstract Art Print.

Most prints cost between $23 and $26.

Etsy Find: Little Korboose

I’ve had Little Korboose on my list to show you for a while now, and I hope you love them as much as I.

My top favorite Little Korboose products are the stuffed pillows.  You can find a little pillow ($25) to suit almost any nursery.

The Alphabet Poster is charming as well.  You can get it framed for $65 or unframed for $25, and it also comes in a blue/green color scheme.

The screen printed wall art and canvases are incredibly sweet.  I’m trying to think of someplace to use them myself.

I also want to point out the star garland.  It’s a really unique and lovely and would go well anywhere ($18).

Be sure to visit Little Korboose and see all the items they have to offer.
