The MDB Family had one of the most impressive showings at the ABC Kids Expo this year. With their diverse family of brands and lots of new nursery furniture collections, there was lots to see.
First from Nurseryworks, one of the most spectacular pieces at the show was this District Convertible Crib. This particular one is made of reclaimed white oak so it’s gorgeous as well as green.
Nurseryworks also displayed a limited edition blue Vetro crib.
Babyletto had the Skip collection. This is now my top favorite from Babyletto.
Even MDB’s DaVinci brand (which usually doesn’t quite fall into the modern nursery category) had a couple items that caught my attention. I think their Highland Collection is a beautiful bridge between traditional and modern. The straight lines make all the difference.
And the Jenny Lind Crib in blue is a fun modern twist on a traditional style.
Finally, MDB was debuting the Ubabub range of products. As I’ve said, this Australian line is set to hit the US shortly and was getting a lot of attention.
So what do you think of MDB’s newest offerings? Any favorites?
I never imagined that my life would include writing to tell thousands of people about a new dresser, but here we are, here it is, and this is the kind of stuff I get excited about these days. The Merlin 3 Drawer Dresser is exactly what you’d hope for from Oeuf and is a gorgeous and perfect addition to their furniture line.
This piece is available now for $920.
Hopefully the 6 drawer version will be available soon as well.
In other important Oeuf news, the Robin Crib is on sale right now. If an Oeuf crib is just outside your price range, maybe this will put it within reach for you. How does $499 sound?

I’ve had the Cody Crib from Newport cottages on my modern crib guide for several years now, but I’m excited that they will soon be adding a second style that deserves a spot on the list! The simple clean lines of the Devon Crib can be used in any style room, and with 28 color choices (including the persimmon color shown here), you can achieve just the look you’re going for.
The crib is set to retail for $945, the dresser for $945 and the bookcase for $745. You can contact email@example.com if you are interested for now.

I’m so excited to introduce you to the new colors that Muu has introduced for their Ray Collection.
The Ray crib and dresser have a stunning, simple shape that I’ve always loved, and now in Honey, Coffee and Gray, they’re three times as useful and appealing. I also love that they’re non-toxic, safe, made in the USA and are available at a popular price point. The Ray cribs are $795 to $865 and the Ray dressers are $895 to $925.
I’m thrilled to see anything new from Muu because it gives me a good reason to talk about them and they deserve more attention than they get.
One final ABC Kids Expo product preview I want to share:
It’s Oeuf‘s, yet to be named, six drawer dresser. If you love Oeuf but wanted more storage space, you’re in luck. I particularly love this dresser with the Perch bunk bed, but it will go with any Oeuf furniture.
I’m still thinking my little one will need a Sparrow twin bed when he grows out of his Oeuf classic toddler bed, and we might just need this dresser to go with it.
I had a wonderful time at ABC Kids Expo again this year and I really enjoyed sharing my finds with you. There are lots more items that I’ll tell you about as they become available, so keep reading over the next few months! If you want to see all my photos from ABC Kids 2011, you can see them in an album on my Facebook page. Feel free to ask questions about anything that you see that I haven’t covered!
I have to say that every time I walked by the Petit Nest booth, it was pretty empty. A beautiful display with great traffic going by, but nobody visiting. I figured there was nothing new from last year but I really did want to ask some questions about the bedding collections, so I found somebody to talk with and I’m glad that I did. I discovered a few new things I was very glad to see.
First, I’m very happy to see a different style of leg on a new crib…
and here’s a dresser with the same style legs.
The rocker is still just a display item, but hopefully it’ll become part of the collection at some point. I have a special fondness for rocking toys.
I’d been to spibaby.com before, but it wasn’t until I saw their furniture in person (which is a huge reason why I go to ABC Kids Expo) that I really became a fan. With really unique pieces and bright colors and patterns, SPI is a great way to add a lot of fun and personality to a nursery.
The furnishings are sophisticated enough to transition into a child’s room or even adult spaces with ease. I’m thinking of a way to use the dressers in my own room!
The Happy Hamper is a really fun padded changer and hamper unit that is available in 6 solid fabrics and 11 patterns.
SPI Baby also has an interesting collection of gliders and ottomans (Beckett Rocker on the left with Offspring Ottoman and Windward Wingback Rocker on the right).
In addition to the furniture, SPI also has lamps, rugs and cabinet hardware. I’ll be bookmarking SPI Baby as my new go-to source for bright, fun colors!
One thing I was really looking forward to about the ABC Kids Expo this year was meeting Mod Mom Kiersten and checking out her new furniture pieces.
I was not disappointed with either. Kiersten is as lovely as you may imagine, and the new twin bed and dressers have a few tricks up their sleeves!
Part of the Owyn furniture collection (which already includes the toy box and table and stool set) the new pieces are the beginning of a new chapter for Mod Mom Furniture.
The Owyn Platform Bed ($900) features a reversible headboard so you can choose to use the bed as shown or use the other side with the natural wood stain and a small walnut bird detail.
The Owyn 3 Drawer Dresser ($1,100) and the 5 Drawer Dresser ($1300) are each beautiful separately, but if you set them side by side, the branch design connects from one to the other. So clever!
There is also a matching nightstand to complete the set (not pictured). I’ll let you know as soon as these new items are available!
I also have to mention that Kiersten was also giving out wonderful little goodie bags and check out one thing I found in mine!
My very own Racoon from Mod Tots!
