Coming Soon: What New from Nuna at ABC Kids Expo 2013

Last year at ABC Kids Expo we introduced Nuna in their US debut.  Since then, the US has fallen in love with the Leaf Lounger, Sena Travel Cribs and Zaaz High Chair.  This year brings new colors, accessories and their full line of strollers.

My babies loved the toy bar on their baby seats so I’m excited that Nuna now has a toy bar for their Nuna Leaf Baby Lounger.

The Leaf will also be available in a new purple color with the blue hopefully following later in the year.  Since I’m talking about colors, I want to note that the Nuna Sena Travel Crib will be coming out in red as well.

FYI, the only thing more beautiful than a Nuna Leaf is the Nuna Leaf Curv (exclusively at our affiliate giggle).  That base is even more gorgeous than the original.

The Pepp Lightweight Stroller is Nuna’s entry-level stroller.  It’s already been out for a little while, but I love the color combinations you can create with the seat liner accessories ($60).

The mid-size stroller in the Nuna line is the Mixx.  This 24 lb stroller will retail for about $600.

And finally, the top of the Nuna stroller line is the IVVI luxx.

The bassinet portion of the IVVI has a handy stand to use as a stationary stand.  Some people really appreciate this type of versatility when they’re investing in a luxury stroller.

The IVVI luxx should retail for about $900 but don’t expect it until the spring.

Best Baby Bouncers and Rockers 2013: Sponsored by Babylist

With a little help from our sponsor Babylist, over the next few months we’re going to be helping you out with your baby registry.  I think a baby bouncer / lounger / rocker (whatever you want to call it) is a great place to start.  When you bring baby home, you’ll probably discover that you need a place to put him or her down safely.  One of my jobs is keeping track of the best baby seats on the market, and these are my top 10 choices for 2013.

1- Nuna Leaf– $220
The Leaf is really cool because in addition to its beautiful design, it has a gentle swaying motion that requires just a little push to get it moving for several minutes.  This is the one that would make it onto my baby registry this year.

2- BABYBJORN BabySitter Balance– $190
The BabySitter is another beautiful design.  This perfectly basic design has a simple bounce motion but is extra fun with the optional wooden toy bar accessory.

3- Bloom Coco Stylewood and Plexistyle Loungers- $195
The Coco loungers are hands down the most beautiful baby loungers.  These are the #1 choice for style.  You can chose wood or plexiglass frames and the seat covers come in a variety of colors.

4- 4Moms Mamaroo– $240
The Mamaroo is the ultimate baby gear gadget.  The seat features special rocking motions to appease the most finicky baby.

5- Maclaren Universal Rocker– $105
The Universal Rocker from Maclaren is lightweight and easy to transport.  This is a great one to take along for travelling.

6- Baby Home Onfour Bouncer– $150
The Onfour comes in 8 great colors.  It is lightweight and easy to travel with.  Its unique feature is the front wheels which make it easy to move while baby is strapped inside.

7- Tiny Love 3-in-1 Rocker Napper– $100
The 3-in-1 Rocker Napper easily converts from a rocker to a little bassinet in case baby falls asleep while in their seat.  This is a great multi-tasker.

8- Apollo Bouncer from mamas & papas- $100
The Apollo Bouncer is among the least expensive but features a fun and modern design.  Music book insert plays lullabies and can be removed and used separately.

9- Chicco I-Feel Rocker– $100
The I-Feel Rocker has a stylish design with curved wood pieces.  The seat is a simple rocker with mobile but folds flat for storage.

10- Peg-Perego Sdraietta Melodia Bouncer– $220
The Sdraietta Melodia is hard to pronounce but easy to use.  It can rock or be placed in stationary mode.  It features a removable sun canopy and colorful toy bar.

Nuna Makes Its US Debut

I fell in love with Nuna’s Leaf bouncer when I first spotted it on Babyology in 2010, but I didn’t share it with you because as you know, we only talk about things that are easily available in the US.  When I recently learned that the incredibly stylish brand is entering the US market, I couldn’t wait to let you know, because that’s big news in my world!

Nuna’s sleek, ultramodern products from The Netherlands made their debut at ABC Kids Expo 2012, and will hit our shores January 2013.  You’ll be able to preorder the first three products shortly.

The first of the three products that will be available early next year is the Leaf bouncer.  Retailing for $229, this beautiful bouncer gently rocks baby to sleep for more than two minutes after just a single push without the use of any electrical power.

It will be available in the three colors shown above.  They had an adult version at the show so I can attest to how comfortable and soothing the Leaf is.

This will be going on our baby seating guide for sure.

Nuna will also be bringing their Sena Portable crib to the US.  It is available in Safari and Navy and in a regular ($220) and mini ($160) size.  The Sena features a one-hand fold and can fold with the bassinet insert in place.

The last product coming in January is the Zaaz high chair that grows with your child.   It will retail for $260.

Later in the year we can look forward to Nuna’s Pepp stroller as well as their Pipa infant seat and we’ll keep you up to date on that news.

This debut was definitely one of the highlights of the Expo for me this year.

I-Feel Rocker from Chicco

I’ve been delinquent about adding Chicco’s I-Feel Rocker to our list of modern baby loungers and bouncers, but it deserves a spot in the collection.  Its wooden rocking base and mobile arm combined with the nice color combinations have earned Chicco its first mention in the BuyModernBaby product guides.

The seat also features an MP3 player hookup, LED display and several pre-recorded sounds for $120.  You can purchase it from our amazon affiliate if you are so inclined.

Coming Soon: Bloom’s Coco Go

Bloom used to just have a few special modern baby products but their line has been growing slowly but steadily over the past few years and now they’ve got a rather thorough collection that includes nursery furniture, high chairs and more.  Now they’re introducing a portable fold-able version of their incredible Coco lounger.  The Coco Go is a 3-in-1 lounger and baby seat.  It also folds flat into a custom carry-bag for travel.

More information to follow including release date and price.  I can’t wait to add it to our list of baby loungers!

Babyhome Collection Now Available Stateside

Babyhome (who we visited at ABC Kids back in September) is now available in the US!  You can currently find their Onfour Babysitter, Emotion Stroller, Side Bed Rail, Eat High Chair and Dream Bassinet at various retailers like our affiliates Magic Beans.

I really love the simple, straight-forward designs across their collection as well as the bright and modern color selection (black, brown, lime, navy, purple, sand and red).  Giggle also carries an exclusive Gray version of the Dream Bassinet.

Onfour ($130)

Emotion ($300)

Side ($80)

Eat ($150)

Dream ($300)

I’m thrilled to have added Babyhome to my guides at Buy Modern Bassinets, Buy Modern Highchairs, Buy Modern Seating and Buy Modern Strollers.

Tiny Love’s 3 in 1 Rocker-Napper

There are a couple of things that I really like about Tiny Love’s new 3 in 1 Rocker-Napper.  First, you can’t really beat a baby lounger that converts to a bassinet.  Stokke’s Bounce ‘n’ Sleep is an example of another way that this is being done, but at a different price point.

The 3 in 1 Rocker Napper has nice, neutral, modern look although some of the parts look a little plasticky.  There are 3 reclining positions and the mattress can also lay flat for a proper nap position.

I’m thrilled to add a versatile product like this to our list of modern baby bouncers and loungers on buymodernbabyseats.
You can pre-order a 3 in 1 Rocker-Napper today from our amazon affiliate.  It retails for $100 and ships at the end of April.

“Bouncer Most Likely To Chill Your Baby” 2012 Cribsie Awards Finalists

The last Gear category I want to review with you for the 2012 Cribsie Awards is “Bouncer Most Likely to Chill Your Baby.”

I consider a baby bouncer / lounger / seat (whatever you want to call it) to be a must-have item for any parent.  Even if your baby never cries, sleeps perfectly, you wear them all the time, whatever… SOMETIMES, you’re going to need to put them down somewhere.  You need a safe and comfortable place to put them so here are some great options…

The first finalist in the best bouncer category is the mamaRoo from 4moms.  We’ve talked about it before, but this unique technological wonder sways and swings your baby the way you do.  It comes with plush toy balls, a built-in noise machine and MP3 player connectivity.

Baby Bjorn’s Babysitter Balance is available in regular, mesh, organic and retro versions, but they are all perfectly simple bouncers that are a safe and comfortable place for your baby.  This would probably be my pick if I were getting one for a baby today.

Bloom’s Coco Rosso is the next Cribsie finalist, but the “Rosso” just means it’s the red version of their gorgeous Coco loungers.  They also have plexiglass and wood versions.  For modern style, these are the hands down winners.

Stokke’s Bounce ‘n’ Sleep Bouncer is the newest bouncer on the block.  It can be used with or separately from the beautiful Bounce ‘N’ Sleep Sleeper Day Bed.  If you’re looking for a complete bassinet and nap solution, this is the only way to go!

The Combie Pod Bouncers are a really cute bouncer option and they are the least expensive of the bunch.  These are the perfect option for those with a more reasonable budget.  There are two neutral patterns as well as the ladybug and bee designs.

Finally, Svan’s Bouncer features a modern Scandinavian design, great color combinations and adjustable angle.  It’s also the only one in the bunch with a sunshade.

So, which bouncer is your pick?  Have you voted for your favorites in the Cribsie Awards yet?  For every vote cast, The Honest Company will donate one diaper to Baby2Baby.  So it’s worth your while.
