Etsy Find: Yellow Owl Prints and more from Gingiber

As I work on transitioning our nursery 🙁 to a big boy room, I’ve been looking for some yellow art and accessories to brighten it up.  In my search, I’ve been admiring Gingiber‘s illustrations and she just happens to have a few in yellow.

3- September Owl Illustration

And while we’re checking out Gingiber’s etsy shop, I can’t believe we’ve never shared her collection of animal pillows.

The current menagerie includes Fox, Owl, Razorback, Bear, Reindeer and Sheep.

Crocodile Rock (and more!)

I hope it’s not too soon to post more rocking toys because I really want to share these fun and decorative options from The Land of Nod.

The Wooden Crocodile Rocker ($150) was designed exclusively for The Land of Nod by Pommette and is the friendliest looking crocodile I’ve ever seen.  He actually looks to me a lot like Maurice Sendak’s alligators from Alligators All Around.  Yes?  No?

The Arctic Plush Polar Bear Rocker ($169) features a cuddly polar bear.  It’s like the perfect cross between a teddy bear and a rocking horse.

We’ve seen rocking sheep before, but this “Rock With Ewe” Sheep Rocker is exclusive to The Land of Nod ($170).

Since we’re on the topic, Pottery Barn Kids also has a cute Sheep Rocker ($130).

And if you want an actual horse, I’m diggin’ this Sprout Rocking Horse ($250).

I never did have a rocking horse as a kid.  Does this explain my current obsession?  I even have a Pinterest Board just for rocking toys if you’re interested in more options.

Rich or Reasonable: Pico Pillows from Areaware or Laura Frisk Pillows

I was admiring the block printed animal pillows by Laura Frisk on etsy.  Her woodblock printed plush animal pillows are charming, fun and would go well in many-a-nursery. (Woodland Creatures Collection shown below)

As I looked at all the designs I was reminded of one of my favorite sources of animal pillows– the Fauna Pillows by Ross Menuez.  His photographic images are quite different from the block printed ones, but on a budget, Laura Frisk’s designs could be used for similar impact!

New Designs from 3 Sprouts

I have a few new designs to show your from one of our perennial favorites, 3 Sprouts.

There are two new storage bins— the bear and the squirrel.

They also have two new storage caddies–the bee and the walrus.

Now for a little bad news.  From here on out, 3 Sprouts will be using regular cotton instead of organic cotton.  I really wish that at least the hooded towels could stay organic.  But to soften the blow, the prices have been lowered.  The bins are now $32 instead of $38 and the caddies are $22 instead of $24.

What do you think of the new designs and the overall changes to the line?

Perfect Bear Pair

If you’ve been searching for the perfect Sharon Montrose prints, I’ve got them for you.  These Bear Cubs on 20×200 are a perfect set and would be an incredible centerpiece for a modern nursery!

Bear Cub No. 3 (top) and Bear Cub No. 4 (bottom)

You’ll need to place your order quickly.  The 8 x 10 prints are sold out.  11 x 14 is still available for $50 unframed and $175 framed.

New From Petit Collage for Fall

I’m a huge fan of Petit Collage so whenever I find something new from them I can’t wait to share it with you.

First, take a look at the sweet Deluxe Bird Mobile.  It’s available with either blue or red wings for $66.

There are also 3 new Jumbo Wood Panel art pieces.  Here’s the Bird Family and there’s also an Elephant Family and a Town (that I’d have called a Zoo) for $220.  These measure 24″ x 36″.

Finally, there are a bunch of new $15 prints including Sweet Elephant, Story Bear, Purrfect Cat, and Hello Monkey.

You’ve just got to check out the entire collection of new Petit Collage products.

Etsy Find: Heavenly Creatures Art

If you’re looking for some sophisticated animal nursery art, I’ve found a great option for you.  Helen Ann Marie Jones of HamjArt on etsy has some beautiful work.

She sells animal notecards, jewelry, totes and prints in her etsy shop, but you should particularly take a look at the 8 x 10 and 11 x 14 prints.  My favorites are the parent and child pieces with a white background.  They are sweet, simple and beautiful.  You can choose your favorite or put together a grouping.  These five prints are just a sampling of the collection.

Hippo Art- Papa and Bebe 8″ x 10″- $10
Alpaca Art- Madre and Bambino 11″ x 14″- $16
Elephant Art- Big Daddy 4 11″ x 14″- $16
Polar Bear Art- Polar Express 11″ x 14″- $16
Sheep Art- Mama and Bebe 11″ x 14″- $16

The only problem with these prints is that I don’t think she’s charging enough for them!  You can learn more about Heavenly Creatures Art on hamjart.blogspot.com and stay up to date on her latest work.
