They Posted These So I Don’t Have To

These are some of my favorite posts from around the web over the past week.

Ohdeedoh featured Maya’s wonderful black, white and yellow nursery.  I always loved Nurseryworks’ Macaroni crib (sadly, no longer available) and I love seeing the crib skirt here!

While I’m not a big DIYer, sometimes the best and most perfect mobile for your nursery is the one you make yourself.  Prudent Baby rounded up 25 Free Mobile Tutorials for you to pick from.  It’s a fabulous resource.

I’ve been eyeing Ferm Living’s new designs recently, but with two cats beat me to posting some of the highlights of their collection for Autumn/Winter 2011.  The new pillows, lamps and wallpaper designs are fantastic and I’m sure I’ll be using them in some way in the near future!

Babyology posted a great series called, “It’s a fun decor trend: apples, apples, apples” with a selection of charming apple (of course) related items.

Finally, Child Mode posted a few pictures of the P’4911 Porsche Baby Stroller.  This is still a design concept so don’t put it on your wishlist just yet!

For more info about this project, Greg from daddytypes really sums up all the relevant details in My Other Stroller Is A Porsche.

This week we also saw the sprouting of what I like to call “blog appreciation season.”  It’s that time of the year when you can vote for and/or nominate your favorite blogs for various awards and recognition.  It’s always exciting to get recognition, feedback and love from your readers and fans.  There are currently a few ways you can do this!

1)  Parents Magazine is collecting vote for their “Best Blog Awards.”  You can vote for Buy Modern Baby under “Best Gear and Toys Blog.”  If you have more than one favorite, you can vote for more than one site!

2) Nominations are open for the Totally Awesome Awards from red tricycle.  It’s easy to nominate Buy Modern Baby for best Nursery and Decor Sites!

3) Finally, you can show some love (with just a click) for Buy Modern Baby on Babble’s Pregnancy Mom Blogs nomination list.

Thanks to you all and have a wonderful weekend!

These are my favorite links from around the web this past week.

Christine’s Nursery, by Lauren from with two cats is such a sweet, feminine inspiration board.  I particularly love the flowery throw pillow and the UNITEDTHREAD owl print.  Beautiful!

The tour of Jackson in the [birch] trees nursery on chalk + dot is wonderful and filled with lots of inspirational details.  Check out that mobile and the clothespin postcard display in particular.

There’s not much I can add to Mari’s back to school backpack list on Small for Big (except the one I picked for my little guy, which I’ll show you soon!).  She rounded up some incredible options!  I’ve never even seen some of them before.

There was a bit of a rainbow theme this week, which I first noticed in A Technicolor Nursery on Honey & Fitz.  With a large enough space and a neutral base, this might actually work!  The design is full of fun picks.

Nicole at Chic and Cheap Nursery was also feeling a rainbow vibe and posted Somewhere Over the Rainbow: Handmade Etsy Finds for the Nursery.  So if you’re digging lots of color right, now, I think we’ve got you covered.

Feel free to share your own notable posts in the comments and have a wonderful weekend!

I can’t WAIT to see Kenzie’s room when it’s finished.  For now, this Update: Kenzie’s Room on kenziepoo will have to do.  It’s going to be fab.

These Christian Jackson’s Minimalist Interpretations of Children’s Stories on ohdeedoh are wonderful.

Happy to see this New Skårt: Sunshine! piece on the artist’s blog Look at the Birdie and Smile.  Inspired by It’s A Small World at Disney parks, this wood panel would be great with mid-century decor.

One of my favorite series on the web is Coos & Ahhs Word of the Week.  This week featured 12 “Bug” picks.  So cute.

If you need me this weekend, I’ll be on a boat in the Bahamas.  Keep your fingers crossed for reasonable weather.  Be back Monday!

Smaller, the Small Magazine blog, posted this photo of Henrietta Swift’s Light Up Your Mood Light Switch Stickers.  These are just too fun not to share.  I’ve seen them before, but this display really makes me anxious to see them more widely available (or dare I suggest a DIY?!).

Babyology posted a fabulous 3 part series about “The Dashing Debonair and Crafty Fox”.  Loved it.  See part 1, part 2 and part 3 for tons of foxy products.

This list of Ten Creative Ways to Display Children’s Art on With Two Cats is wonderfully comprehensive and full of inspiration.

Bloesem Kids shared this amazing Kids room inspiration from France.  I love to see ideas that get us to think differently about our spaces.

Last but not least, this Robot Nursery on the itsy factor is adorable and totally fun.  My nephew would love it as he’s into robots right now 🙂

Feel free to share any other exceptional posts you found last week.  Have a wonderful weekend.

This American Flag Map I found on Swissmiss is a beauty and would make a great nursery piece.

How can you not be impressed with Baby H’s room featured this week on ohdeedoh?  That bull’s-eye rug from West Elm really is a show stopper!

Mari posted this incredible wooden bird mobile in Keepin It Snug: Snug Studio on Small for Big.  I just can’t get over it.  Awesome!

Mini Piccolini posted a great find with these Acne Jr – Toys to Keep Forever.  You’ve got to check out their online shop.

These Vintage-style Play Time cards by Seam Sims on babyology have the cutest, brightest and most cheerful illustrations you could ever hope to see.  They just make me smile.

Did you see anything awesome that you think I missed?

Ohdeedoh put together a new collection of Alphabet Prints from Adventures to Ice Cream.  They found 10 great ones including the Mimosa print we gave away in May!

I can’t help admiring this colorful vintage tea towel on Kickcan & Conkers.  It’s a great find in her post “Oh, Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat, Where Have You Been?”  The link is in the post and you’ll have to hurry to get one before someone else does!

I was excited to see this “Sneak peek: Blabla Kids Farm Animals” on little. lovely.  Lots of fun new dolls and pillows.

There’s a great Giveaway: a gift voucher from Treetop Studio on bloesem kids.  This etsy shop is new to me and I’m impressed.  Lots of nice things.

Finally, Amanda’s got another great Word of the Week with 18 fun raccoon picks.  Always love the “Word of the Week” on Coos & Ahhs!

Chic Spaces for Little Faces had a nice collection of inspiration for Decorating with the Alphabet.

I’m drooling over the photos of the x baby-highchair that Pirouette posted in Happy 10 years SIRCH!  They are all about good design and I’m all about SIRCH.

Mae’s room on Ohdeedoh is so soft and lovely.  I adore it.

I love anything Lego Duplo related so I was excited to see the review, “Tried and Tested: Lego Police Bike Set” on Li’l Magoolie.  Read the reviews and then head over to your nearest Lego store.

Finally, the prints by Julz Beresford on Kickcan and Conkers’ Give Me Three #33 post are too sweet.  See all three in her post and she’ll direct you to Kinder Gallery where you can buy them.

Share any wonderful posts you discovered this week and let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see coming up next week!  Also, if you’ve got a nursery you’re dying to share, email me!

These are some of my favorite posts from around the web over the past week.

This week there was a beach/ocean/water theme to all of my favorite picks.  I guess it’s inevitable in the height of the summer.

First you’ve got to take a look at Hoolaboola’s latest “Get the Look: Ocean” feature.  If you’re at all interested in a beachy nursery atmosphere, you’ll find tons of ideas and great products among their picks.

Chalk + Dot are hitting it out of the park week after week with their mood boards, and this Under the Sea Mood Board by Erica is no exception.  I’ve officially added chalk + dot to my essential blogs list!

I found this adorable Mermaid Nursery on the itsy factor and you can find more about it on Nameberry.

If you’re actually heading to the beach sometime soon, Child Mode put together a great list, “Top Eco-Friendly Beach Toys: 5 Picks Perfect For Sandy Play“.  We have the Green Toys Sand Play Set (which I love) and I’d love any and all of the others as well!

Finally, off the theme, I really like this list of 10 Things I’ve Learned About Nursery Design on Look at the Birdie and Smile.  It’s got lots of practical things to think about when putting together a nursery.

Hope you enjoy those and have a wonderful weekend.  We’re going to be heading up to Orlando for a fun holiday weekend including a day at Disney!
