It’s just that time of year. Companies are giving us a glimpse of next year’s products and this is the first exciting furniture announcement for 2011. If you’re expecting right now, you may be able to get your hands on bloom’s brand new Alma Papa nursery collection.
The Alma Papa Crib is an upgrade from the current Alma crib (which will become the Alma mini). It too can fold up for easy storage but it can be transformed into a toddler bed and co-sleeper, making it super functional from newborn through the toddler years. The collection also features a brand new dresser with removable changing top (sold separately). I will add more information about these pieces as it becomes available and will certainly add them to buymoderncribs and buymoderndressers as soon as they are released.
I would be remiss if I ignored yesterday’s big news completely. Bugaboo, the Cadillac of strollers, announced its new double stroller– the Bugaboo Donkey. I guess that would make it the Cadillac Escalade of strollers.
Anyhow, since I usually only share things that you can purchase now, I created a new post category called “Coming Soon” just to share upcoming product releases like the Bugaboo Donkey with you.
Much has already been said about this curious choice of name, but the new design is an exciting addition to Bugaboo’s line-up as well as to the range of choices in double strollers. What is unique about the Donkey (sigh, I wish they would change the name!), is that it converts from a single stroller to a side-by-side double stroller. This might just be the ideal all-in-one stroller for anyone planning a family with more than one child.
Pricing information has not been released yet but I will certainly keep you posted. I can already picture all the sets of twins in Hollywood riding around in their Donkeys.
Our Bugaboo Frog with a wheel-board accessory* has worked perfectly for us with two children three years apart. Any less than that though I think we would have needed a double.
Feel free to share your suggestions for a better name for this beast. My attempt?: The Camel (1 humps or 2) Not great but I think it beats donkey. Any other ideas?
