Real Room Tour: Amelia’s Fabulous Fabrics

Amelia used the colors of her favorite cosmetic bag to inspire this nursery.  She paired the bright coral color with shades to gray to create a sophisticated yet fun space.

The exciting and inspirational aspect of this nursery is the combination of fabrics that Amelia used.  She paired the Elephant and Umbrella fabric and Geo Tile from Spoonflower.com with Duralee’s Smoke Scroll fabric for the canopy and the crib skirt.  The rug is a great coral shade and the crib bedding and seat cushion are more custom fabrics by Holli Zollinger from Spoonflower.

It’s not too often that you find a little seating area like this near the crib, but I can see this set up being very useful during “sleep training”. The antique chair was made modern with the bright coral paint job and fantastic fabric.

Some of the most striking features in the room are the pendant lamp and the curtains– both from Ikea!  The curtains were made chic with the addition of ribbon detailing.

The chair was reupholstered with Slick Grey Fabric and the side table was a family antique that was repainted for a wonderful splash of coral.

The frames on the gallery wall are all Ikea as well and add the final personal touches.

Amelia still has a few more art pieces to help fill the walls, but I think a room is never quite done anyway.  You can always change and add things as kids grow and tastes change.

It seems Amelia is a woman after my own heart.  She had her specific vision and went out of her way to get everything customized to her exacting specifications.  How can you go wrong with determination like that?!

Thanks so much Amelia for sharing the photos of your lovely nursery.  It’s always exciting to get a look at more unique color combinations for a girl’s nursery.  I’m sure you’ll enjoy this space for years to come.
