Three of my favorite colors just go together so well, especially on the 4th of July!

I’ve always been a fan of Zuny, but this new selection of animals in white is particularly lovely. The usual leather and colors might not have worked for everyone, but anyone can find a spot for these cute minimal figures in white.
These retail for $58 each, but right now (through October 15th), enjoy the Friends & Family 20% off sale with code HEART20 at Serena & Lily.

Shari, from the must-read blog Spearmint Baby, took care of the red, white and blue for me this week while we’re celebrating summer and Independence Day in Colorado with family this year. Nursery inspiration is just the tip of the iceberg on Spearmint Baby. There’s so much more to read and explore on her amazing site. Thanks Shari!
Red, White and Blue in Your Nursery
Hi Buy Modern Baby readers! It’s Shari from Spearmint Baby & I’m super excited to be guest posting today while Esther enjoys some quality family time on her vacation.
Since it is the week of the 4th, I’m sharing a fun dose of RED, WHITE, & BLUE today! Wouldn’t red, white, & blue be a fun/unusual decor theme for a gender neutral nursery? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a nursery decorated in these colors before, have you? If you prefer just a small dose, there are so many cute red and blue accessories/accent pieces that would be fun to mix into a white nursery.
The talented ladies at Sissy + Marley have put together another dreamy modern nursery. Completed in their signature style, baby Finn’s nursery is crisp, clean and full of versatile pieces that will grow with him.
This gender-neutral space is sophisticated enough to blend with the adult areas of the home, but the animals (and giraffes in particular) add enough fun for Finn to enjoy.
The Little Darlings Prints from The Animal Print Shop are as cute as can be. Every time I visit the site I start looking around the house for empty wall space. I could look at those sweet animal faces for years and years, I’m sure of it.
Unfortunately, this faux taxidermy elephant head from Anthropologie is no longer available, but this trend is so widespread that if you were looking to achieve a similar look, I’m sure you could come up with an alternative that you love.
I’m a big fan of white on white textures and I think it’s done really beautifully in this space without being monochromatic. The wood tones (and of course some of the toys) are the pops of color that keep the space from looking cold.
Finally I’m a little envious of anyone with a chalkboard wall. The possibilities are endless.
Thanks to Sissy + Marley for sharing these incredible photos! There’s a lot of inspiration here. Check back tomorrow for more information on how to re-create this look in your own home.
Happy 4th of July! 236 years of independence for the United States of America. You can find these red, white and blue art prints at our lovely affiliate, The Land of Nod.
Hope you have a clear night for fireworks. We have thunder rumbling here this morning but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the weather will clear by tonight.

Amy’s first nursery was all the rage throughout the blogosphere last year and I’m excited to show you what she has now put together for baby #2!
This fresh blue and white space has a grown-up feel but is a beautiful comfy space for a little boy.
The most striking feature in the room is the navy honeycomb fabric curtains. As is Amy’s signature, she had the fabrics done at Spoonflower for a perfectly custom look.
This small approximately 9′ x 9′ space functions both as nursery an guest room, so the sofa isn’t just a comfy lounge space, it’s also a Queen sized sleeper.
Amy made the balloon mobile (so cool!) and her photo of her sweet new baby is a portrait she did of him when he was just five days old.
Also, please visit her photography site, Amy Bethune Photography, and be inspired by her fresh, modern style. Amy also has an etsy shop with her own style of custom jewelry. This woman is seriously talented.
Thanks so much for sharing Amy! You have two lucky little boys!
