ABC Kids 2010 New Products Showcase

I’m beat. It’s been a loooooong day but before I get to sleep I want to share my favorite picks from the New Products Showcase at the ABC Kids Expo.

My first pick is the Sidekick Stroller Board from Orbit Baby.  We’re a Bugaboo family and have their roller board for our preschooler. The one thing that I don’t like about it is that it’s hard to walk comfortably behind the stroller with the board in the way.  I find myself walking and pushing from the side, which isn’t the ideal position.  Orbit solves this problem by putting the board on the side, and the fact that it looks like a skateboard just makes it really cool.

The Primo Cozy adjustable wooden chair is a nice high chair design that I could see being very popular.

This new play mat from Boppy is pretty cute and would make a fantastic gift for any new mom and baby.

Finally, I was really excited (understatment!) to see this new crib from Nurseryworks.  I’ve been eager to see what Nurseryworks has been up to lately and here’s our peek…. The Hollis Crib!

Woah!  Right?

I’ve got a few more photos from the event on my flickr page.  Looking forward to what else I will find tomorrow!

Coming Soon! Bugaboo Donkey Stroller (April 2011)

I would be remiss if I ignored yesterday’s big news completely.  Bugaboo, the Cadillac of strollers, announced its new double stroller– the Bugaboo Donkey.  I guess that would make it the Cadillac Escalade of strollers.

Anyhow, since I usually only share things that you can purchase now, I created a new post category called “Coming Soon” just to share upcoming product releases like the Bugaboo Donkey with you.

Much has already been said about this curious choice of name, but the new design is an exciting addition to Bugaboo’s line-up as well as to the range of choices in double strollers.  What is unique about the Donkey (sigh, I wish they would change the name!), is that it converts from a single stroller to a side-by-side double stroller. This might just be the ideal all-in-one stroller for anyone planning a family with more than one child.

Pricing information has not been released yet but I will certainly keep you posted.  I can already picture all the sets of twins in Hollywood riding around in their Donkeys.

Our Bugaboo Frog with a wheel-board accessory* has worked perfectly for us with two children three years apart.  Any less than that though I think we would have needed a double.

Feel free to share your suggestions for a better name for this beast.  My attempt?: The Camel (1 humps or 2)  Not great but I think it beats donkey.  Any other ideas?
