My Modern Nursery #119: Miss Rumphius Nursery Inspiration Sponsored by Lullaby Paints

The first title I selected is Miss Rumphius, written and illustrated by Barbara Cooney. Cooney paints an inspirational tale of a woman, who after a full life of work, adventure and travel, finds a way to make a lasting mark by making the world a more beautiful place.

My Modern Nursery #114: Violet Pearl Pastel Sponsored by Lullaby Paints

I have to admit that purple walls are tricky. As the mother of boys, pink was a challenge I had to learn to overcome, but purple is an even more difficult proposition. Now Lullaby Paints has many shades of purple, but I was looking for a light shade with a little more pink in it than blue. Violet Pearl is just on the purple side of neutral but for this board it became the boldest color in the palette. The room is so neutral that you could really pick YOUR favorite shade of Lullaby Paint and with a new rug and piece of art, you’d still have a perfect nursery.

My Modern Nursery #99: Fresh Violet Sponsored by Lullaby Paints

Last month we did pink, and this month Lullaby Paints challenged me to use a shade of purple. We went feminine with the pink, but I think I’ve taken purple in the most un-girly direction possible. Purple is last on the list of colors I’d choose in my own house, but I could definitely live with this scheme! I started with the Moonlight Bear art piece by Seventy Tree and things developed from there. We’ve got many more products and options that would fit in this space on our Pinterest board. We use Pinterest to collect our ideas and develop our designs each month and I highly recommend it for compiling inspiration for your own space.

My Modern Nursery #90: Dreamy Dark Purple Sponsored by Lullaby Paints

Lullaby Paints collaborates with so many great brands to create special color collections. When I found out they had a selection of paints for Finn + Emma, I had to have a go with one of the beautiful shades. Skipping over my obvious favorites, Light Grey and Clearly Aqua, I opted for the more daring but aptly named, Dark Purple. While it’s a deep color, there’s a lot of gray in Dark Purple, giving it a wonderful, dusty, neutral look. It’s meant, of course, to coordinate perfectly with Finn + Emma’s Flower pattern, but we only used that as a jumping off point, as you can see.
