I’m pretty sure that I say this every year, but if you had to choose just one store for your holiday gift shopping, The Land of Nod would be the one to pick. They assemble the best collection of beautiful, unique gifts that stand the test of time. They also work with makers and designers to develop exclusive products for the season. But I’ll quit talking about them and just show you a selection of my favorites.
First, there’s a number of fun playhouses.
The Gearhead Garage Playhouse is too fun. The Gas Pump and Speedster Sit-On are sold separately. I also like the idea of getting their Speedster Racer and/or the Fire Engine Speedster with the garage.
The canopy playhouses are great because they add a lot of whimsy but don’t take up a lot of floor space. The new styles include the Skyhouse Playhouse Canopy, London Calling Playhouse Canopy and Woodsy Playhouse Canopy.
There’s one other crazy new playhouse, the Monster Playhouse, but it’s a little weird for my taste so I could bring myself to post a photo of it.
In a world saturated with play teepes, the new Dip Dye Denim Teepee is a unique version worthy of note. Denim style canvas + ombre is a really cool look and the floor cushion they have to go with it is pretty as well.
If the full play tents take up too much space or if you prefer something more temporary, I love Suzy Ultman’s Hanging Around Hallway Playhouse that just hangs in a doorway or hall and included the welcome may.
Another soft, plush place to hang out and play is the Day Trip Plush Canoe that is part of the Camp Wandawega collection.
You may know I have a thing about rocking horses, and the Thoroughbred Rocking Horse designed by Adam Greber is a new favorite of mine.
I love how the What’s That Stand For can transform into a great number of places for pretend play. It comes with curtains, banners and theater, produce, ice cream, drive thru and bank signs as well as a chalkboard/whiteboard sign so the kids can add anything else their imaginations come up with. This might be my #1 top must-have pick for holiday gifts.
Now we did have a nice wooden workbench when the boys were little, but this If I Had a Hammer (and a Workbench) looks even cooler. With so many black and white kids rooms, this one fits right in.
My final new toy pick from The Land of Nod for the holidays is the Modular Dollhouse. It is compact, can be arranged in different combinations and best of all, comes with the furniture and dolls.
I’ll just say this, I’m a little envious of all the kids getting The Land of Nod goodies for the holidays this year. I wouldn’t be mad if you tag me in your holiday Instagram photos to show off.
