Giggle (one of our affiliates) is doing something very interesting. They’re hosting a contest to choose the next giggle nursery. Top designers have come up with their best nursery collection and rocker ideas and you just have to pick your favorites. I’m having a hard time choosing! I just love seeing new and different designs!

The matching dresser is equally beautiful and full of useful storage space with customizable panel dividers in the drawers.
You can currently find the Oslo collection at Buy Buy Baby. Both the crib and dresser retail for about $400.
Project Nursery is doing a giveaway of the crib and dresser right now through Friday, May 3rd so if you like this as much as I do, be sure to enter!
It’s not just the perfect changer with plenty of storage on your dresser top, but when you’re done with it, the changing stations mounts on the wall and becomes a display shelf.
I love anything that stretches the lifetime of these products and I applaud this creative thinking!
Now if only I could find something to do with our old Oeuf changing station. While it was ideal while we needed it, it’s now been hanging around our house for the past 2 years…
We got a preview of the Grazia Glider back in October, and now here she is. This is a great new addition to Monte’s unparalleled collection of nursery seating. I love the high curved back, but what really sets this gorgeous glider apart is the brushed stainless steel base. Like all of Monte’s gliders, it is available in a selection of colors and includes a solid lumbar pillow of your choice. Here you can see it in Heather Grey with a Missoni pillow (an $85 option). You can also choose the optional contrast piping on this glider and the matching Grazia Ottoman.
I just have to share a couple more photos because the back of this chair is just as hot as the front.
The Grazia Swivel Glider retails for about $1200 and the matching Grazia Ottoman is $445.
In the photo at the top you can also see Monte’s all new Duo Side Table, which is designed to sit perfectly next to your Monte glider or rocker. It comes in walnut (shown $495), espresso and white ($395).
Rockers and gliders are one of those nursery furniture pieces that take a big chunk of the budget. Especially if you share our modern aesthetic, finding a rocking chair or glider that you really love for a price that you can be happy about is really difficult. I was shooting for a top 10 list here, but I only found 8 that fit the bill (pun intended!).
1- Calla Glider- sale price $498 There are a couple more color options.
2- Baby Mod Rocker- $300 Available in 3 colors.
This is just like the Nurseryworks Sleepytime Rocker but with different color choices and $200 less.
3- Dorel Nolan Swivel Glider- $400 Available in 3 leather color choices.
4- Enchanted Coronado Glider- $400 Available in 4 colors.
5- Home Loft Concept Tufted Rocking Chair- $425
6- Modernica Arm Shell- $435 Comes in 20 colors and with 4 base options.
The Eames Molded Plastic Rocker is just over the $500 budget here so I selected the Modernica Fiberglass version. You can find lots of other knockoffs of this design for even less. For discussion of knockoffs visit here and here.
7- Rockabye Co. Velvet Lara Glider Chair- $450 Available in 3 colors.
8- babyletto Madison Swivel Glider, Slate- $350
I was trying to be rather selective about style. There are other modern style gliders out there but some of the proportions were just so far off I couldn’t bear to subject you to them.
I can’t make any guarantees about the comfort or durability of these seats. With so many things, you get what you pay for. On the other hand, we got our glider (no longer available) for under $500 and after 7 years we’re still happy with how it looks and functions!
I welcome your suggestions if you know of anything good that I’ve missed!
Oeuf’s Rhea Crib is an updated and beautiful new version of the Robin Crib.
I love the legs matching the slats. It grounds the crib more while the Robin floats.
The Rhea Crib retails for $670 and is designed to coordinate perfectly with the Merlin Dresser.
Choose birch and white or walnut and white. On this crib I’m partial to the walnut. What do you think?
Wait! If you’re shopping for nursery furniture, don’t place an order until you take a look at these new collections from Spot on Square!
First is the Ulm Collection. Inspired by mid-century modern design, the simple but beautiful crib and dresser sit on tapered solid birch legs. The crib retails for $800 and the dresser is $850 plus $230 for a changing tray if you need one. There’s also a toddler bed conversion for $250.
The Oliv Collection reminds me of Oeuf’s Robin collection with some stylistic differences. Like the Robin collection from Oeuf, Oliv is the lowest priced set in the Spot on Square family. The Oliv crib retails for $575 and the dresser/changer is $625. There is also a toddler bed conversion for $175.
Spot on Sqare’s Eicho collection has been updated a bit as well. From what I can see, it just looks like the dresser has been changed a bit.
The new Chase Storage Bench is available exclusively on modmomfurniture.com. This is Kiersten Hathcock’s newest design and one of the most versatile in her collection. It can be a wonderful toy box in a child’s room or playroom, it’s perfect for storage at front door or would even useful in a grown-up bedroom at the foot of the bed.
The bench comes plain or with your choice of a leaf, dandelion, red bird on a branch or monogram applique.
I’m imagining this as part of my little one’s big boy room. Customize it with a “G” perhaps?
The Chase Storage Bench starts at $535 with no veneer applique, it’s $550 with an applique and is $565 with a walnut stain.
Living in Florida, people always ask me if I miss the change of seasons. While I must argue that we do have different seasons (we’ll call one warm and the other hot), I do miss a little of the typical autumn of my childhood up north. I love real pumpkin patches, the crunch of autumn leaves and the colors of fall.

It’s my day to remove all the Halloween decorations and pack them away for the year, so that means it’s the first day of November! This November 1st, I’m thrilled to introduce you to four new blog advertisers. I’m happy to place their lovely ads in my sidebar so that you all have a chance to visit their sites and I am grateful for their support.
We recently let you know about Numi Numi Design’s launch, and now we’re glad to be working with them to make sure that fans of modern nursery design are aware of this new brand. We hope you’ve all had a chance to see what Numi Numi Design is all about.
I’m always happy to work with Canadian companies as my readers in Canada are some of my most active and responsive fans. Mini Bulles is a Canadian boutique with a beautiful collection of items for children and the nursery, but all my readers should take note of their collections because they ship to the US and internationally. Get access to brands like Les Triplettes and Mimilou. Be sure to browse this shop before the holidays to find really unique gifts.
This month I’m also happy to welcome two etsy shops to our sidebar. They are two shops I had never come across in my browsing, but I’m happy to share them with you and encourage you to browse their products.
First, Cecil & Clyde has a fun and charming collection of pillows for the modern nursery. My favorites are the Sun and Cloud pillows shown below, and I also love the Moon, Stars and Night Sky and lots of the animals. Browse the shop to see if any of them would work for your little one’s room.
Thanks to all our advertisers for their support! If you have a product or shop that would fit on this blog, please email us about advertising opportunities- email@example.com.
