Kalon Studios has added a second crib to their line of products. The Echo Crib is made of solid Maple and painted with a milk-based paint. This crib ships beginning June 15th and retails for $1200. If you pre order now, you can get the crib for $1075.

What is more classic and familiar than the book “Goodnight Moon”?
It was my inspiration for this super colorful modern nursery. First I searched to find if there was anything out there similar to what I was setting out to do. I didn’t find any “real” rooms based on this theme. but apparently there is a children’s museum (in California?) that has a version of the room to play in. It looks like soo much fun…
For my modern nursery version of the room, paint the walls green (or not), get some green and yellow striped curtains and if you’re really brave, paint the trim red. I was excited to find that using this rainbow color palette actually resulted in a fresh looking room.
Sometimes these days you can find the modern styling you are looking for among the collections of more traditional baby furniture stores. Even if they don’t have the pieces on display at your local retailer, they will be able to order them for you.
One such collection is Element from AP Industries. I discovered this crib in the “Whimsical Modern Forest Nursery” on chiccheapnursery.com. I was impressed with the look of the furniture and was surprised I had never found it before. It looks like a beautiful option for any modern nursery and I have now added the crib to buymoderncribs.
The crib can be converted into a day bed as well as a full size bed, which can make it a great value for about $600.
I am always happy to be able to share lower cost products that make modern design accessible to more people. We can all drool over the Nurseryworks, ducduc, and Netto collections, but when it comes down to it, many of us see nurseries are temporary and we’re not all looking to buy heirloom pieces.
Structured Green, builders of handcrafted, modern, sustainable furniture have created a unique nursery set featuring bamboo and variegated strips of reclaimed woods. The pieces are made in the US, assembled with water based glues and finished with food grade tung oil.
I know there are tons of amazing things on etsy but I also know that I get so overwhelmed when I try to find something for a specific application. When I come across something that I love but I wasn’t really looking for, I save it to my favorites so that I can find it again later, when I might be looking for something specific. I’m going to start sharing some of these favorites with you.
My first discovery is a crib set that I found while searching for mobiles. The photo just inspired me and has me dreaming up another girl’s nursery. The set is two pieces- crib skirt and blanket featuring Amy Butler’s Martini fabric in mustard and Optic Blossom in linen. Please visit dabydarling’s shop for more.
Five years ago it was a lot harder to find the style of nursery furniture I was hoping to get. The Oeuf crib was only available for pre-order and the selection of other furnishings and accessories was much more limited that it is today. My second child is now using the nursery furniture we purchased for our first but I sometimes imagine what I would do differently if I created a nursery with the items on the market today. So, I did. Using the same crib (since it has worked out well and I still love the over the crib changing platform instead of a changing table) and the same bedding I have now, I dreamed up a new nursery for my littlest guy.
