Pogo from Bloom

I had started wondering when we’d be seeing this little chair from Bloom.  I spotted it LAST year at ABC Kids Expo, and since they weren’t at the show this year, I didn’t know what the story was until now.

Here it is… Bloom’s Pogo 3-in-1 bentwood step-stool, booster and child’s chair.

You can pre-order it now.

New from Loll for Kids

Loll was one of the first brands I blogged about.  Their furniture is as beautiful indoors as it is outdoors.  Made from recycled materials, their make your environment beautiful while they are protecting it.  Loll is keeping it fresh with a few new kids designs.

First these Kids Cabrio Lounge Chairs are adorable.  They’re the mini versions of the popular adult sized seat. $228

The Kids Cricket Chairs ($200) are perfect with the new Kids Play Table ($460).

Finally, Design Within Reach’s Go Club Chair is now available in child size Kids Go Club as well! ($280)

Makes we want to completely rethink our backyard!

Since I know you’re going to ask about the red playhouse at the top, I’m not sure.  It’s like Modern Playhouse’s Dacha Playhouse crossed with their Circle Playhouse.   It makes sense for Loll and Modern Playhouse to work together, but I just haven’t found anything official (other than the colors and the fact that Modern Playhouse likes Loll on Facebook).

Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams… for Kids?!

Some companies make beautiful furniture for kids.  Some make their beautiful furniture smaller for kids.  Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams (one of my favorites for grown-up furniture) have a collection of mini chairs sized just for kids.  This is for when you really want the kids’ furniture to blend in with the decor.

Clockwise from the left we have the Luc Kids Chair ($595), Lil’ Alexa Kids Chair ($575), and Mini Sadie ($445).  The chairs in the photo can be ordered online as shown.  You can also special order the chairs to your own specifications or in leather through a Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams retailer.

New Bloom Spotted at ABC Kids Expo 2011

To me, having closely watched the industry over the past 6+ years, bloom is one of the brands that I consider to be pioneers in the modern baby arena.  With benchmarks like the Coco lounger in their product line, I’m always looking to bloom to find the coolest, most beautiful and innovative products.

The focus this year was on bloom’s stroller…

I think I’m developing a phobia of strollers, which I’ll talk about later, so I walked right by that and focused on what else there was to see.  The first thing I couldn’t help but notice was these little chairs that turn over to be tables.  They’re adorable.

The next thing that jumped out at me was the new colors for the Coco lounger.  They’ve got red and whitewash for the frames, and new khaki and denim seat fabrics.

The denim fabric is shown on here on the Fresco high chair. I think it just looks totally cool.

I also thought it was interesting that bloom will be coming out with its own bedding.  I think that any time a company sells a non-traditional sized crib, it’s worth their while to sell bedding to go with it.

And since I mentioned atypical sized cribs, bloom had the Alma Max on display, which is a full sized version of the Alma Papa.

We should be seeing the new bloom items in the first part of 2012.

Norman Copenhagen Play Board (and more)

In the spirit of back-to-school, check out this Normann Copenhagen Play Board in Yellow.

Designed by Jesper K. Thomsen, the “Play” series is handmade in Denmark out of Lacquered Beech.  Other items in the collection include the Play Soapbox Cart ($3150), a table ($380), bench ($370) and chairs ($315). (the Play collection is available at our affiliate All Modern Baby)

Some newer Norman Copenhagen items that might be fun to use in your modern nursery include the Watch Me Wall Clock ($50) and Woofy, the cable concealing dog ($200).

New Addition: Panton Junior

This is one of those things that just never has made it onto the list because there’s always something else that’s new that I’ve got to share.  But an icon is an icon, and it’s time the Panton Junior chair took its place on my list of nursery seating.  In this case I think the junior version (25% smaller) is much more useful today than the original.  It may be hard to find an adult space that is suitable for a brightly colored plastic chair, but they are absolutely perfect in a child’s space!

The Panton Junior Chair is available in six colors and is perfect for kids from pre-school to elementary grades.  In fact, how cool would it be if your preschool used these as chairs in the classroom?!  I’m afraid that would be a selling point for me.

You can order a pair of Vitra Panton Chairs in your choice of colors for $260 (ship free!) from my affiliate AllModern.com, and see my other choices for child’s chairs on buymodernbabyseats.

ABC Kids Expo 2010: Hot Furniture Finds

I will get to these products in more detail when they become available for purchase and I add them to the guide at buymodernbaby.com, but I want to give you a look at my favorite furniture finds from ABC Kids Expo 2010.  These are the new nursery furniture pieces that really jumped out at me.  Let me know what you think.

First, I am absolutely in LOVE with this gorgeous table and chair set from Svan.

Table and Chair set from Scandinavian Child at ABC Kids Expo 2010

It’s so new that the designer only saw the actual prototype when it arrived in Vegas on Sunday night.  The chairs are super sturdy, light and stackable.  Don’t hold your breath for this set because we’ll have to wait another year before we can get our hands on it.  I’d love to be first in line to order one.

Another great new furniture set that will be getting a lot of attention is the Overachiever from Q Collection Jr.  They have some new bedding (which I will show you more of later), a larger version of their Stella Stackable storage, a twin bed with trundle and this amazing furniture set made to grow and last.  Look carefully and you will see the bassinet is made up of the ends of the crib and the changing platform.  Then you re-use the ends and the crib base for the toddler bed.  This whole system takes you from newborn up until you’re ready to put your child into a twin bed.

Speaking of twin beds, Q Collection has this beautiful option with optional storage drawer/trundle (which was a requirement for me when I was looking for a bed for my oldest).

at Abc Kids Expo 2010

I was really excited to see some new items from Nurseryworks at the show  They showed a new rocker and a new glider (with a base like the Goodnight Glider they used to have, but with a different seat) as well as the Hollis Crib and Changing Table made from clear acrylic.  This see-thru crib has me scratching my head.  I’m not quite sold on this idea but I’m glad they are thinking outside the box and coming out with new and different things!

Finally, my last favorite furniture find from the ABC Kids Expo this year is the Bamboo series crib and changing table from Seed Organic.  This is a bamboo version of their Leaf Series, which I hate to say I had actually never seen before!  Both the Bamboo Series and the Leaf Series feature a unique swivel top changing table and safety drawer retractor that automatically closes one drawer when another is opened.
