New From Boon at the ABC Kids Expo

I’ve been procrastinating with this post because there’s just so many exciting new products from Boon that I’ve got to share!

First and foremost, the Expo Center was buzzing about the Naked ($70).  Boon’s brand new baby bathtub, the Naked features a sleek collapsible design and is a great headlining addition to Boon’s bath collection.

Also new in the bath collection are the Whale Pods (love these!)…

…and a new color for the Bug Pod.

Most of the other bath toys will be available in other color combinations, and the Flo will also be available in the same magenta color as the new Bug Pod.

One brand new bath toy that looks really fun (meaning I want it) is Bubbles ($18).  They are collections of suction cup bath toys that stick to the tub and to each other.  Bubbles come in sets of 10.

One of my favorite products that I’ve just got to purchase ASAP are Boon’s new little snack boxes, Trunk and Cargo ($18).  My preschooler just doesn’t need the giant lunchboxes that we have, and these would be the perfect size.

I also love the new stacking snack containers: 2 high Penguin, 3 high Owl and 4 high Caterpillar.  They’re all so cute and come in three different color combinations each ($12-15).

Boon’s new feeding collection will also feature a new Catch Plate to go with the Catch Bowl, an updated Swap spoon and new Twig and Stem drying accessories ($6) to go with Grass and Lawn drying racks.  Yes, the walls of the booth were made of Lawn covered with Stems.

In boon’s organizing collection, the Turf front facing bookshelf ($50) is a nice new item…

and they are offering the Flaunt, Grip, and Curl in more colors.

The Loop diaper caddy ($50) will finally be coming out as well.  This is a really nicely designed product that I’ve been looking forward to since seeing the prototype last year.  Yay!

What new boon items are going on your wishlist?

Skip Hop’s Huge Showing at ABC Kids Expo 2011

Skip Hop launched more new items at the ABC Kids Expo this year than they ever have at one time before.  I’m just going to share my favorites with you or we’d be here all day.

One thing in particular had the entire show buzzing…

Don’t you just love the Jonathan Adler collaboration with Skip Hop?  This exciting collection includes four patterns: Wave Multi, Flame Yellow, Chevron Blue and Nixon.  All four will be available as Duo Essential Diaper Bags ($75) and Pronto Changing Stations ($34), and the Dash Messenger Bag ($80) will be available in Chevron Blue and Nixon.  The line should be in stores in December!

The other product that had everyone at the Expo talking was the Complete Sheet.  With the bumper controversy continuing to brew, Skip Hop developed the Complete Sheet to ensure you can have all the style of a bumper without any of the risk.  Genius.

The bumper free 4-piece bedding sets include the Complete Sheet, Nursery blanket, crib skirt and an Airflow wearable blanket for $120.  The sheets and blankets can also be purchased separately and the collection will be available in November.

My two favorite sets are Chocolate Lattice…

…and Mod Dot (which is already a popular bedding pattern from Skip Hop).

They look incredible, right?

Skip Hop has also made a name for itself as one of the major players in the modern baby bath accessories market.  I love all of the new products they are releasing in the coming months.

Your first must-have item is Soapster, the adorable foaming soap dispenser.  Coming soon, he’ll be retailing for $24.

There’s also a new Yellow Ducky Spout Cover, and some fun toys like the Starfish Stay-Put Stacker, Octopus Ring Toss Fountain and the Sort + Spin Fishbowl Sorter.

These will be coming out in the next couple months.

The last thing I want to mention is the ladybug items.  To satisfy the demand for another girly character, ladybug items have been added to Skip Hop’s mealtime and Zoo pack collections.

It’s always fun to visit with Skip Hop and as usual, I came away excited and impressed.

Buy a Modern Boat

My husband and I were on a cruise (sans kiddos) this past weekend and we couldn’t find a single souvenir worth bringing home for the boys.  These are more along the lines of what we were looking for.

1- Melissa & Doug Deluxe Pirate Ship Play Set– $70

2- Sprig Toys Adventures Dolphin Adventure Playset– $30

3- Green Toys Tugboat– $12

4- Zoo Timer – Fernando the Fish– $150

5- Dinghy Regatte 5-Boat Flensted Mobile– $52

6- A di Alessi Ship Shape Containers– $30 each

7- Guidecraft Chunky Puzzle – Boat– $10

8- Plan Toy Geometric Sorting Boat– $20

9- Playsam Sailboat 130mm Red & White– $60

Fortunately, the boys were so happy to have us home, they didn’t even notice that we didn’t bring them anything.  I think Grandma and Grandpa spoiled them while we were away!

Coming Soon! Cleanwater Collection from 4 moms

I’ve been waiting for the debut of this collection from 4moms for a while now and the wait is almost over.

The ingenious Cleanwater Collection, which includes an infant tub, bath sponge and spout cover, is coming to stores on June 15th!  The unique design of the tub lets clean water run in while the dirty water flows out.  The tub and the spout cover feature color coded digital thermometers that show the water temperature at a glance.

Every day from now until then, 4moms will be picking a lucky winner to receive the collection when it launches.  Become a 4moms insider and enter to win!  I’ll be entering every day just for the chance to have one on hand for baby shower gifts!

Flexibath Giveaway Results

Thanks to everyone who entered this great giveaway.  It was interesting to get your feedback about buymodernbaby and your suggestions got me thinking about making some changes.

The randomly generated winner of a white Flexibath is…. Suzi C. !!

Congratulations…  Whether you’re going to use this for your own family or give it as a gift, I really think this is one of those genius baby products that everyone needs to know about.  I love baby products with a great design and with practical functionality.  The Flexibath looks great when in use, but in between bath times, it’s easy to fold up and store out of the way.

You can purchase your own FlexiBath or from our affiliate BabyEarth, where they are available for $34.95.

Flexibath Giveaway and New Flexibath Toys

Can you ever have too many bath toys?  It’s a question I’ve been asking myself as my boys throw dozens of wet bath toys out of the tub just for kicks.

Just in case you don’t have too many, A Real Cool World is coming out with FlexiBath Toys.  Their set of cups, funnel and jug with a lid fits on a little shelf that sticks with suction cups to the side of your Flexibath or any other tub.

These aren’t yet available in the US, but I hope to see them soon as they would be a great addition to a shower gift.

Now, in case you aren’t familiar with the Flexibath, it’s the ultimate space saving baby bath tub that folds flat for easy storage.

It is lightweight, easy to clean, has a handy drain plug in the bottom, is BPA and phthalate free, retails for about $40 and I just happen to have one to give away to you!

Lots of Fun In Store from Skip Hop

The Skip Hop booth was one of my favorite visits at ABC Kids last week.  There was so much new stuff but I’ll just show you my favorites.  I just wish I had taken more pictures (next year I am totally taking a photographer with me!).

I’m always on the lookout for cool bath toys so the Dunck ducks immediately caught my attention. Nesting, pouring, floating cups– what more could you ask for in a bath toy?!

Skip Hop is also expanding their bedding offerings with two new designs including this owl pattern that is part of the new Tree Top Collection, which I’m sure will be extremely popular.

Going along with the owl theme, these owl bookends (dog and monkey were shown as well) are too cute and are just some new decor accessories to look forward to.

The Tree Top Collection also includes this rather nice Activity Gym which would have made it into my play mat post from a few weeks ago.

Sometimes I get a little overwhelmed when it comes to diaper bags, but as Skip Hop is a pioneer in the world of diaper bags (we’ve got one!), I have to mention the new Bento Bag that will surely outlast the baby years.  I always love a bag that dad can carry too.

What’s New From Boon

One of the most popular booths at ABC Kids Expo 2010 was Boon Inc.  Once you got past the crowds, it was easy to see why everyone was eager to be there– and I’m not just talking about the orange shag carpet.  Their already incredible lineup of products will be expanding for 2011 and the new items are very exciting.  Here are just a few of my favorite new things:

Just one part of their feeding collection, you can securely attach your bowls to the table with the Wrap protective bowl cover.

The Animal Bag, used to store stuffed animals,  is now available in a smaller, more convenient size.

Boon has always been tops with their bath toys and accessories, and you can visit buymodernbathroom to see just how important they are in this area.  I was thrilled to find the little Creatures (bath toy cup set) and new bath appliques for playing in the tub.

The most talked about debut from boon was the Glo nightlight, with multi-colored lights and removable balls.  Boon claims it’s 95% effective at keeping monsters away all night long, so just add a few hugs and kisses and your kids are bound to sleep safe and sound.

Finally, I really love the Loop diaper caddy and wish I could have had one all these years.

Their very popular Frog pod and Bug pod will be joined by a Whale pod as well, and it’s cute!

Keep an eye out for all these new offerings for 2011.
