“Niftiest Bath Toy Organizer” 2012 Cribsie Awards Finalists

This is a fun category… “Niftiest Bath Toy Organizer.”  I remember the day I discovered the need for a bath toy organizer.  We have so many bath toys that one really isn’t enough, but we just cycle the toys through and don’t use all of them at once!

So the Cribsie finalists in the Play category, “Niftiest Bath Toy Organizer” are…

Boon‘s Bug Pod wins for cutest design for sure.  The bug pod is a nice large size and scoops, drains and stores small bath items.  The frog and whale (coming in April) designs are cute as well.  Retail for $35.

The Bath Toy Organizer and Storage Basket from One Step Ahead may not be much to look at, but this is the one I purchased years ago to solve our bath toy situation.  I wanted something that went across the tub and this one expands to fit most bathtubs perfectly.  With two boys, I sometimes place the basket between them to give them each their own space in the tub.  It helps avoid some conflict.  Retails for $13.

OXO‘s Whale Pail is another hanging scoop design.  This one has a more stylized design and featured a translucent window as well.  It retails for $20.

The Tubby Bath Toy Organizer from Skip Hop is a mesh and neoprene bag that attaches to the wall.  It is available in orange and blue and retails for $20.

The Spout Guard Organizer from Summer Infant is a smaller container that is more for your soap and sponges, but it also has the added functionality of a spout guard to protect little heads from bumps.  It retails for $10.

Do you have a favorite that didn’t make the list?  Which one are you voting for?

You can see my entire baby bath product guide at BuyModernBathroom.

Get Naked

Yup, the Naked baby bathtub from boon is now available for purchase.  We saw its debut in September at ABC Kids and the wait is over.  With its modern, innovative design, the Naked can recline, expand, collapse and hang to dry.

Retailing for $70, the Naked is available in blue, green, purple, red and orange (exclusive to Giggle).

I’m happy to have included it in our bath guide on Buy Modern Bathroom.

Skip Hop Giveaway Winner!

With Skip Hop’s bath line, bath time will never be the same.  Their bath line more than doubled this year with new items like the Starfish Stay Stay-Put StackerOctopus Ring TossTurtle Island Playset and Soapster Foaming Soap Dispenser.

And the winner of all four of these wonderful new items is Lace who also discovered the Skip Hop Spout Covers and loves them!  Congratulations Lace!

There are two other new bath accessories in the collection (which some of you have already commented about): The Moby Bath Kneeler and the Moby Bath Spout Cover.  The Moby spout cover joins the Ducky spout cover so I’m going to venture to guess that we’ll see a Ducky Bath Kneeler eventually.  I’m just speculating though.

I also have to mention that just last week, the new Skip Hop diaper bags I told you about were released!  That’s right, you can now order your Jonathan Adler <3 Skip Hop Diaper Bags!

And your Skip Hop update would not be complete if I didn’t let you know that the Complete Sheets are on the Skip Hop website and should be shipping any day now!  The Complete Sheet features a different design on the top and on the sides of the sheet so that you can enjoy all the designer fun without the risk associated with crib bumpers.

My two favorites designs are Chocolate Lattice and Mod Dot.

I have a feeling we are going to see a lot of copycats of this idea in the years ahead, but for now, Skip Hop is blazing the trail and I’m excited and impressed.

Thanks to Skip Hop for this wonderful giveaway and for your constant creativity and innovation!  Follow them on twitter and facebook for the latest updates.

Happy Holiday Giveaway 2011: Bath Bundle from Skip Hop

In this last week of our Happy Holidays Giveaway series, we’ve got three wonderful giveaways for you.  To kick it off, I’m thrilled to share this bundle of bath time goodies from Skip Hop.  This year Skip Hop has introduced a number of new bath toys and accessories to their already fantastic bath collection including these four fabulous items…

The Starfish Stay-Put Stacker is the cutest bath stacking toy ever.  The stacker can be attached to the floor of the tub using a suction cup attached to a post or it can float freely in the bath.  The starfish rings can also cling to the wall of the tub. $15

The Octopus Ring Toss is another new bath toy that’s destined to become a classic.  There are two ways to play.  First, pour water into the octopus head and water sprinkles out of his arms.  Second, throw the rings and see if the octopus to catches them! $13

The Turtle Island Playset is a foam cube that is home to 3 squirty turtles.  You can unfold the cube into a floating mat where the turtles can play! They can dive through the cutouts as well.  $15  So many great new toys, right?!

Finally, to round out your bath time experience, every tub (or shower!) needs the Soapster Foaming Soap Dispenser. $24

I really wanted one of these after I saw it at ABC Kids, so the folks from Skip Hop were kind enough to send one for my boys.  It’s been a hit all around.  I was a little worried that our fancy all-natural baby soap wouldn’t work in it or that a lot of the product would get wasted, but I was pleased with our results.  The Soapster attached firmly to the wall using the 4 attached suction cups.  There is an alternate screw method for attaching it if the cups don’t work with your wall.  We filled the dispenser according to the instructions.  It’s super easy– just fill the soap to the line about halfway into the window.  This took a full bottle of our soap.  Then fill the rest with water.  Stir using the bubble wand under the penguin’s head and it’s ready to use.  Foamy soap came out from the very first pump.  The kids get their own squirt of soap and wash themselves.  Without supervision I’m sure they’d keep taking more and more, but they’re learning and I’m always there.

I’m really excited about the great bath collection Skip Hop has put together.  They’re on a roll and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!

For now, we’re giving away all four of the new Skip Hop bath products that I talked about!  To win the Skip Hop bath collection with a Starfish Stay-Put Stacker, an Octupus Ring Toss, a Turtle Island Playset and a Soapster (prize package worth $67):

Happy Holiday Giveaway 2011: 4moms Cleanwater Collection

It’s week 5 of our 6 week giveaway series and the prizes are still going strong.  Today I am extremely pleased to finally introduce you to the Cleanwater Collection from 4moms.  This is my #1 pick for a baby bathtub and in my top baby shower gift picks.

Unfortunately, as with so much of today’s cool baby gear, it did not exist when my kids were babies.  We had a plastic newborn to toddler tub without any of the wonderful gadgety features of the Cleanwater Collection.

The biggest problem we had with bathing our little guys was in between the wash and the rinse parts of bath time.  We always opened the drain to let the dirty soapy water drain out and then quickly filled the tub back up with clean warm rinse water.  In between however, we had a cold, wet baby shivering in the tub.

The Cleanwater bath collection from 4moms would have been the perfect solution.  Plus, the bath spout cover with the digital thermometer is an extra useful feature that we could still use.  My kids always tell me that they can’t turn the bath tub on because they don’t know how to set the correct temperature.  The Spout Cover would have them both rushing to be the one to get the tub water ready and set perfectly.

To win the Cleanwater Collection from 4moms worth $90:

Visit 4moms online, and then leave a comment telling us your favorite feature of the Cleanwater Collection.

For an additional entry, follow 4moms on twitter and leave another comment letting us know that you did.

Be sure to enter your email address when you comment so that I can contact you if you are the winner.

The deadline to leave your comments and enter the giveaway is next Tuesday, December 6th at 8 am.

The winner will be chosen randomly (using random.org) from among the unique entrants.  The giveaway is open to readers in the US who are over the age of 18.  Good luck and tell your friends!  *full rules

Complete Your Puj Tub Collection

I think that Puj tubs are the best product to use for baby’s first baths.  I love how they’re easy to use in the sink and fold flat to dry and for storage.  Puj debuted new bath colors at ABC Kids Expo last weekend as well as some clever accessories.

Puj nubs are the perfect answer for where to hang your Puj tub.  You can also use them to hang towels and clothes.  Puj tub + Nubs = the perfect combination.  Puj was also showing Cling, an organic infant towel and wash mitt set which included a Puj Nub to hang it.  These will all make for fabulous baby shower gifts!

If the Nubs aren’t enough, there are also Hubs, strong grippy hooks that screw into the wall.

Finally, you’ve got the Snug spout cover which is cleverly made from leftover Puj material.

Put these down on your baby shower gift idea list pronto.  They’ll be available soon.
