My Modern Nursery #118: Green Gone Wild Inspiration Sponsored by Lullaby Paints

We’ve had a great time this month exploring how to use Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2017 in the modern nursery so of course I had to try Greenery out as a wall color in preparation for the new year. I look forward to adding a lot more green into my own home this coming year and so far I’m off to a great start with new house plants!

Lullaby Paints has a custom wall color option that allows you to specify any paint shade while still enjoying non-toxic Lullaby Paints and avoiding dangerous chemicals, so it’s easy to match any Pantone shade. This year however, I found that Lullaby Paint’s Green Gone Wild was remarkably close to “Greenery”– so close that I’ve found representations of Greenery” that are further off from each other than from the shade I’ve chosen below.

Do not be scared to try a rich green shade on the walls.  I’ve had a bright green room for one of my kids and loved it the entire 7 years we lived in the house. If such a saturated color seems overwhelming, try painting just one accent wall. Remember that kids will outgrow the nursery after just a few short years so it’s a great place to have a lot more fun with the decorating! You can always change things up as the kids get older.

Greenery: Pantone’s Color of the Year for 2017

I’ve been waiting all month for Pantone to announce their Color of the Year for 2017 and finally this morning they shared that Greenery is the tone to look for in the upcoming year. I’m so excited for this bright and hopeful shade of green to inspire the next 12 months!

As they describe it, Greenery is:

“A refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings.

Greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Illustrative of flourishing foliage and the lushness of the great outdoors, the fortifying attributes of Greenery signals consumers to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate.”

I’ve found a few fun ways to start incorporating Greenery into your life.

I’ve got Rachel Castle’s work all over my wish lists (and even on a wall at home), and now you can get her quirky, colorful style in the nursery with baby bedding pieces. These are worth the shipping from Australia and I hope to order again soon!

How about the Banana crib sheets? These come in flat and fitted.

In the photo above the sheet is paired with the new Darling Cotton Knit Baby Throw, which is lovely enough be used as a wall hanging.

I’m also a big fan of the Multi Spot crib sheets.

My Modern Nursery #117: Punky Pink Nursery Inspiration Sponsored by Lullaby Paints

I had a request this month to do a deep, warm red shade as the background for the nursery. It seems to be the big color this season in fashion and furnishings so it seemed perfect. Looking back through past boards I found one that I had already done in a dark red or maroon shade, so not to repeat myself, I looked for a slightly brighter tone. I found Punky Pink, a beautiful berry color from Lullaby Paints. I took a cue from the name and added lots of wild funky color and graphics. I was thinking less punk rock and more Punky Brewster. Who’s a fan?

ZoLi’s PIP & DINE Tokidoki Editions!

I love these for parent tokidoki fans (of which there are many!) as well as older children and even teens, for whom the ordinary zoli designs might seem too babyish.

The SNOO Smart Sleeper Helps Get Baby Back to Sleep

The lack of sleep is one of the most difficult and traumatic things about parenting a newborn but the SNOO Smart Sleeper from Happiest Baby promises to help baby sleep better for longer. In addition, even without the smart features, it’s one of the most beautiful modern bassinets you can get.

SNOO bassinet

I can’t get over this video of the SNOO calming crying babies back to sleep.

If this isn’t enough to convince you to try it then you’ve never tried putting a baby to sleep before.

collections-hero_1440x-progressive

The SNOO features breathable mesh walls, white noise options, a variety of motions and comes with 3 safe swaddles that attach to the bed to keep baby sleeping snugly on their back.

I’m truly envious of new parents who get to try incredible AND beautiful products like the SNOO Smart Sleeper.

The SNOO Smart Sleeper can is available for pre-order and should start shipping next week (November 11, 2016). The price is up there at $1160, but then for new parents, sleep is priceless. If you’re not ordering one today, at least add it to your baby registry! If you have one, let me know about your experience with it in the comments.
