New Addition: Toy/Chaise™ from Iglooplay

I’ve been admiring this “toy box” since I saw a photo of it from ICFF 2008.  I have been waiting to see when you could actually get your hands on one and the time is now!  I’m so excited to finally get to add this to buymoderntoyboxes (and my wishlist).

There is nothing I like more than a multi-functional piece of furniture.  The problem with toy boxes is that they are low pieces with only one purpose– storing toys.  The space above them in the room is wasted because the top has to remain accessible.  With the additional purpose as a seat, the Toy/Chaise™ from Iglooplay becomes infinitely more useful and appealing.  As I type I’m trying to decide which boy’s room this would fit in better!

New Addition: Pappy Youth Chair

If you’re looking for some fun color in your feeding furniture, the Pappy Youth Chair from Pali might be just the high chair you are looking for.  I spotted this chair in a photo taken at the 2010 ABC Spring Educational Conference Trade Show.  I hadn’t seen it before so I looked up Pali and added this chair to buymodernhighchairs.

This chair features adjustable heights, a 3-point safety harness and removable tray (sold separately).

The finishes are non-toxic, lead-free and water based.

New Addition: Plover Organic Crib Bedding

It’s been a while since I’ve added new crib bedding to buymodernbedding so I was excited when the people at Plover Organic let me know they added a couple of new crib sets to their collection.

I was already mad for the Gray Calico/Gray Squares set and I’m happy to introduce you to the Pinwheel/Blue Dots and the Pink Roses/Pink Waves sets. The sets retail for about $335 and include bumper, sheet, quilt and tufted throw pillow.  I’m a little sad that the Teal Squares/Teal Confetti and the Vine/Olive Dots are no longer available as sets because those were much more unique color combinations, but I’m always excited to have fresh new choices in the realm of organic crib bedding.

New Addition: Traveller from Phil & Teds

I’m embarrassed that I hadn’t though of this before!  The Traveller portable crib from Phil & Teds would be an amazing gift for any new parent, especially if they ever travel anywhere.  How do I know?  We’ve got one of these.

When we travel we like to keep things as simple as possible so bringing the usual travel cribs along cramps our style and weighs us down.  You can’t always count on hotel cribs, and when you’re staying with friends or family, they aren’t always equipped with the proper infant/toddler sleeping accommodations.  The Traveller crib has got you covered.  This bed folds up small and weighs only 5 1/2 pounds.  Ours fits into the kids’ suitcase so it’s not even an extra piece to lug around.  It is durable, easy to assemble and I can pack it back into its carrying case without any trouble.

The Traveller would make an amazing shower or new baby gift, especially coming with the promise of taking the little one as an overnight house guest to give mom and dad a break!  It won’t take up a lot of space in the house while it’s not in use, and when they go anywhere, they will be set with a stylish, convenient, and easy to use place for baby to safely rest… and they’ll have you to thank for it!

New Addition: Cariboo Cot

Today’s addition to buymoderncribs is this cot from Cariboo of New Zealand.

This crib features a few useful accessories.  My favorite is the cot changer, which was a must-have for me because I did not want to have a separate changing table and I had an armoire instead of a dresser to hold clothes.  It’s a great space saver.  The Cariboo Cot also has an “in-cot bassinet option” which could be just what you’re interested in for baby’s first few months.  Two bassinet inserts fit in one crib, which could be just the perfect thing for twins!

The Cariboo Cot also converts into a toddler bed as well as a small sofa, so it is multi-functional and can be used for a long time.

It is available in espresso or teak finishes.  The Cot retails for about $1660.  The toddler bed conversion and the sofa conversion are about $300 and the bassinet and changer accessories are about $260.

New Addition: Closet Dividers from Oré Originals

This is one of my favorite baby gift ideas ever and is my latest addition to buymodernbabygifts.  These closet dividers from SugarBooger by Oré Originals are one of those gifts that parents don’t know they need but will absolutely love!  I have a set and after you’re done using them to separate baby clothes sizes, you can use them to divide the closet into different categories (like separating long and short sleeves).  The dividers come in a great variety of designs and colors so you’ll find something to match almost any nursery.

New Addition: City Lights Commuter Crib from Sorelle

I’m always pleased to add cribs in the under $500 category to buymoderncribs. It’s great when you can create great design at a budget conscious price point.

Sorelle City Lights Convertible Crib - Two-ToneThe City Lights Collection from Sorelle Furniture features the Commuter crib with an espresso and white two-tone design. I’m not crazy about the other pieces in the collection, but the crib can be paired nicely with other simple white or dark wood pieces. For $380, it’s a great deal.  It’s not shown on Sorelle’s website, but I have seen this crib in natural, espresso and in all white finishes as well.

New Addition: Presidio Glider from Serena & Lily

Since I used this glider in My Modern Nursery #18, I thought I’d better add this lovely little glider to the list of gliders on buymodernbabyseats.

The Presidio Glider from Serena & Lily is compact seat, made in the USA and available with a selection of over a dozen different color slipcovers.  The glider can be additionally customized with a different color band around the bottom. The glider retails for about $950.
