I’m happy to have added the vibrant wall art collections from modernetc to the nursery decor guide at buymoderndecor.
They have a series of pieces called “little modern,” which are specifically designed for children’s spaces.
PeekABoo (shown below), like many of their designs, is available in ten different color combinations. That means if you like the design, you’re probably going to find one that matches your decor.
Little Love, a three piece design, is available in six color combinations and in three sizes as well. Each square can be 12″x12″, 18″x18″ or 24″x24″.
Let’s Rock is also available in six colors and can be purchased as a 12″x12″, 18″x18″, 24″x24″ or 36″x36″.
I used their Cycling design in one of my nursery inspiration boards, and it’s still one of my favorites to date.
There are several other collections from modernetc that aren’t specifically designed for children but that might work in the right nursery design.
One thing that I really love about the designs from modernetc is that they are much larger in scale than most nursery art that you find. With one piece, or one of their sets, you can really make a big statement and fill a space. I also like that the designs are manufactured in the US and are ready to be hung straight out of the box.
Visit their website and see what inspires you.
This isn’t breaking news or anything, but Kate Spade designs diaper bags. I have to confess, that my diaper bag is a Kate Spade. I’ve had it more than 5 years (and it looks good as new!), yet in all that time I failed to add Kate Spade to moderndiaperbags. I’m happy to have finally rectified that situation and make sure that Kate Spade is among your contenders in that search for the perfect diaper bag.
My bag is most similar to today’s Nylon Maryanne Baby Bag. It’s simple, straightforward, chic and sturdy.
But Kate Spade is not limited to basic black and boxy…
And if I had to pick one to replace what I’ve got, I’d snap up a Serena Baby Bag in a second!
You can find Kate Spade Baby Bags through my amazon affiliate link or at fine retailers near you.
Adrift Mobiles from Schmitt Design are my most recent addition to the nursery decor guide at buymoderndecor. These mobiles are works of modern art that are equally at home in the nursery as in any other room in your home.
Strung together by clear monofilament, the forms seem to float in mid-air.
They currently have eight different designs ranging in price from $138 to $248.
Schmitt Design is known for its sustainable business and manufacturing practices. Read more about them on their website.
I already have Q Collection Jr. on my list of modern crib options, but the new Overachiever is worth bringing to your attention. You may have seen my pictures of the crib among my furniture finds at ABC Kids in October….
…but you can now place your order for one of these ultra-convertible cribs.
For $1500 (bear with me) this crib includes 7 different conversion options, Bassinet (rock or not), Crib (rock or not), Changer, Daybed, and Toddler bed. Q Collection cribs are also FSC and Greenguard certified and hand-made in the USA.
The Overachiever is available in Moonlight, Mercury or Cloud (natural, light gray, white).
You can order one now from Fawn & Forest (an affiliate) or a few other select retailers.
A reader pointed out to me that Room & Board added a new glider to their nursery furniture collection, and you’re going to want to put this one on your list (I did!).
The Shay Swivel Glider has great lines and is available in a variety of wonderful colors. They’re stocking it in this amazing Teal peacock color but the special order colors are some really great choices. The glider retails for about $900 and the matching ottoman (which I recommend getting if you have the space for it) is $450.
Room & Board’s other glider, the Carter Swivel Glider, used to be listed for $850 and is now $700. It’s another beautiful choice though it’s a little curvier.
Have I mentioned lately how jealous I am of those of you purchasing nursery furniture these days?!
This is one of those things that just never has made it onto the list because there’s always something else that’s new that I’ve got to share. But an icon is an icon, and it’s time the Panton Junior chair took its place on my list of nursery seating. In this case I think the junior version (25% smaller) is much more useful today than the original. It may be hard to find an adult space that is suitable for a brightly colored plastic chair, but they are absolutely perfect in a child’s space!
The Panton Junior Chair is available in six colors and is perfect for kids from pre-school to elementary grades. In fact, how cool would it be if your preschool used these as chairs in the classroom?! I’m afraid that would be a selling point for me.
You can order a pair of Vitra Panton Chairs in your choice of colors for $260 (ship free!) from my affiliate AllModern.com, and see my other choices for child’s chairs on buymodernbabyseats.
After the holidays, I should be all toyed out, but these big bright bamboo blocks from Hape International could be ignored no longer. They are my newest addition to my guide at buymoderntoys.
This beautiful set of 25 blocks is decorated with bright colors and patterns. They are rather large and hollow so they’re easy for even small toddlers to hold and stack.
You can purchase Organeco Blocks ($78.95) through my affiliate links or numerous other online retailers.
I can honestly say, that now, six years after starting to shop for a nursery glider, and as I come to the end of the time that I need one, I have finally found the PERFECT chair.
Straight, clean lines, neutral upholstery, high backed and wings to rest your tired head in the middle of the night make this the glider I have always dreamed of. It’s the Sparrow Glider from Gus*.
This beauty retails for about $1400 with the glider.
