Rich or Reasonable: Graphic Hampers

It’s been a while since we’ve posted a “Rich or Reasonable” comparison but during my last trip to Ikea, this one totally jumped out at me. I’d been looking for a new hamper for my youngest for a few months now without getting excited about anything, but when I saw the Plumsa with its black and white pattern and leather handles for $11!!!, this hopped into my shopping cart. My older son already has the Ferm Living Trace Basket ($115) as his hamper and loves it, so this was an easy comparison.

I do love the Trace Basket from Ferm Living, and they have a few additional patterns and sizes you may love as well. It’s nice that you can coordinate all their bathroom accessories.

The Ferm Living basket is a little wider with longer handles, but the two hampers really do compare very well against each other. For $11, I recommend you run to Ikea right now and grab a Plumsa!

Stylish New Toys from Design Letters

Famous for their modern monochromatic typography, Design Letters recently debuted a few stunningly simple playsets for your tots.

The Cooking Class Kids Kitchen Playset includes five pieces with a storage box stove. You can also get the Cooking Tools Playset with three wooden cooking utensils to round out your collection.

Tool School is 6-piece wooden tool set packs into the storage tool box.

All your favorites from Design Letters ship worldwide from Denmark so load up your basket.

Bright New Toys from Petit Collage

The latest new items from Petit Collage are more colorful and more fun than ever. Among my favorite new toys are the Musical Jumbo wooden xylophone ($24).

The Rock + Roll Alligator ($32) is Petit Collage’s unique take on a shape sorter which doubles as a pull toy.

Animal Town wooden blocks are a beautiful playtime basic ($35).

And finally, I recommend the Day + Night 2-in-1 double sided chunky puzzle ($20).

You can shop for all my picks and the rest of the new Petit Collage items on their website.

SISSY + MARLEY for ducduc

Looking through SISSY + MARLEY‘s portfolio of kids’ spaces, you may notice that they’re long time fans of ducduc, so you may not be surprised to discover their collaboration on an incredible new playroom furniture collection.

The showstopper of the collection is the Marley House Closet. The dramatic storage pieces can be customized with different finishes and start at $1700 a piece (three are shown here).

The collection also includes the Myles Desk ($495) Logan Stool ($250), and Jasper Toy Storage ($880 with desk and $385 without).

Many of SISSY + MARLEY’s kids rooms feature decorative book displays and I have a feeling they’ll be using their Ryan Book Ledges from now on ($645 for set of 3 classic shelves as shown).

You can also add a little extra fun with the generously sized Sebastian Chalkboard ($725) or the Sebastian Corkboard ($795).

Mix and match these pieces in your space to achieve playroom perfection!

Oribel PortaPlay Wonderland Adventures Baby Activity Center

Since the last time we checked in with Oribel, the stylish PortaPlay activity center has a new color scheme with the Wonderland Adventures version. If the original green was to much for your home’s decor to absorb, the Wonderland Adventures version might be much more to your liking.

This costs the same as the original PortaPlay ($130), but it’s available exclusively at Albee Baby.

My Modern Nursery #122: Pass It On Nursery Inspiration Sponsored by Lullaby Paints

The book Pass it On by Sophy Henn is all about sharing your joy with those around you and I think it has translated into a nursery that’s full of that joyful, loving feeling. The book contains a beautiful palette of warm, fun colors and that’s what we’ve used in this nursery. The green wall color is similar to a background on one of the pages.

I was actually trying to make this nursery work with yellow walls, but it wasn’t until I “painted” them Wildness Mint, this grayish green, that everything snapped together. This nursery is also a great budget design. Whereas I usually pick what I love with no thought to the cost, I’ve sourced inexpensive furnishings for this modern nursery that make everything you see here just over $1600.

1- Wildness Mint from Lullaby Paints– $59 a gallon
2- Flowing Rhythm Rainbow Mobile– $62
3- Cataldo 3-Light Drum Pendant– $116 (on sale now $76)
4- Hot Air Balloon Ride Art Print from two ems- $89
5- Ikea Stuva Crib– $200
6- Stuva Följa changing table with 4 drawers- $145 ($125 for the next 2 weeks with Ikea Family)
7- Sunburst Yellow Rug– $693
8- Blabla Rainbow Pillow Blue/Green- $68
9- Rocking Chair by Belleze- $101
Handmade Baby Elephant stuffed animal from buby Noa- $84
Mula stacking rings– $8
10- Yellow Submarine from La Petite Melina- $30

We have additional inspiration for your Pass It On nursery on our Pinterest page. There are many more decor options to help you customize this fun and friendly space. Also be sure to pick up a copy of Pass it On by Sophy Henn. It’s sure to be a great addition to your child’s library.
