The Jewish holiday of Purim begins Saturday night. As an Esther, I’ve always been partial to this celebration of Queen Esther’s heroism in saving the Jews of ancient Persia from destruction. It’s a fun holiday with food, drinking, storytelling, noise-making and parading in masks and costumes. The most popular costumes are of the characters in the story– mainly King Ahasuerus, Queen Esther and the villian of the tale, Haman.
I can’t believe I just realized that Oeuf’s collection of dress-up goodies has you covered for all three characters. There’s a crown for Esther, a beard for the king and a mustache for Haman! ($24-$40)
I’m merely posting this for your entertainment… at $16,320,000, the Dodo Bassinet Solid Gold from Suommo has got to be the most expensive bassinet of all time. I imagine it being the bed of choice for the offspring of ancient Pharaohs.
Fortunately, the bedding is included. How about throwing in the child’s college education while we’re at it?
For the older baby, the Bela Luxury Cot Gold Edition is merely $62,288 but I’m afraid the bedding is an additional $5,168. For some reason they throw in a free bottle of water.
I’m not even going to mention the pacifier– oh wait, I just did.
Have I sufficiently knocked your socks off?
There was a time when my grandmother would tell my sister and I the story of Little Red Riding Hood every night. We made story time more varied by asking her to change the color of the hood, but I admit red is my favorite anyway.

Aren’t these screen prints from KLTworks sweet?! I’m a big fan of Kristin’s thread drawings, so these colored serigraphs of her original animal images are a wonderful addition to her etsy shop. Of the Penguin, Raccoon, Deer, Swan, Rooster and Blue Footed Booby Bird, which is your favorite? Or would you prefer the whole collection?
Each of the above prints retails for $30.
I’m also scanning my walls to find a home for this Heron Serigraph. They’re equally at home in Kristin’s Pacific Northwest as they are around us here in Florida!
This limited edition print retails for $60 and there’s also a version with two birds.
Thanks to West Elm Market for carrying this collection of imaginative modern cuckoo clocks from Diamantini + Domeniconi. I used the Veneer clock (below) in yesterday’s nursery board, but any one of these would make a bold statement with just the right amount of whimsy and fun.
The only drawback to these beauties is their $300 price tag, but they seem to be such a hit that they’re currently on backorder. If you want one, you should add it to your cart asap.
For some reason, I’ve been focusing on apples and pears lately, and I’ve put together this nursery board that was inspired by this amazing Muffins and Mani Apples and Pears wallpaper…

You may know about my fondness for Lego Duplo, okay I admit, I’m more of a fanatic! And while it saddens me deeply that my boys have nearly grown out of Duplos, perhaps your kids will be able to enjoy these amazing sets!
I first saw these this weekend at Legoland Florida (one of my favorite places!) but you can pick these up at your local Lego store, Target, etc…
Bath time will be infinitely more awesome with Toddler Build and Boat Fun. $20
Unlike the previous cake set, this Creative Play Ice Cream Set is not packaged in pink and is equally suitable for both boys and girls! Love!
Of course a “healthier” option would be the Creative Picnic Set. So much fun to be had with these!
Put these or any other Duplo sets on your gift buying list and they’re sure to be a winner.
