Goodbye to The Land of Nod and Hello to Crate & Kids

The modern baby world would not have been the same without The Land of Nod and neither would this blog. From our very first posts, we’ve referred to products, many of them exclusive, from The Land of Nod, and it’s always among our first stops when we’re looking for items for any nursery design. I even placed a final order from them this week. But today, it’s official. The Land of Nod is gone and all our previous links will redirect to Crate & Kids.

For now, everything from The Land of Nod has been moved to Crate & Kids, so you should you’ll just need to change how you look for it. I hope that the magic continues to thrive under the new arrangement. Select Crate & Kids items will appear in over 40 Crate & Barrel stores starting next month, so if you’ve lived in a city without a brick and mortar location of The Land of Nod, this could be fun. I live 2 hours from the nearest Crate & Barrel, so I’m out of luck, but I’m sure I’ll be visiting Crate & Kids at least weekly.

New Year, New Sesame Street Collection from The Land of Nod

As if the Care Bears weren’t enough to spark some nostalgia, now Sesame Street for Nod is hitting your neighborhood. I’m such a sucker for the Muppets of Sesame Street that I might have had to do a themed nursery if my kids were being born now.

Check out some of my favorites from the collection!

The showstopping Sesame Street Cookie Monster Bookcase will proclaim your love of cookies (and reading) forever. $500. You can also see the Sesame Street Wall Decal here. Order a few and create an amazing statement wall.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Bert and Ernie so I’m a little nutty for the Sesame Street Bert & Ernie Woven Wall Hangings. $39

There’s a great variety of fun Sesame Street bedding in twin sizes, toddler sizes as well as crib sets. Pick your favorite characters, Abby Cadabby, Cookie Monster, Elmo, Big Bird or Oscar.

You can stick with plain bedding and just add some of these amazing throw pillows,

or even spell something out with these Sesame Street Letter Throw Pillows.

Add some seriously awesome pattern with the Sesame Street Organic Twin Sheet Set ($80), which you can mix and match with almost anything in the Sesame Street collection. You can also find the design as a floor bin, crib sheet, toddler sheet, changing pad cover, and lunch box.

Who wouldn’t love this Sesame Street Swaddle Blanket Set ($49)?

And you’ve now found the perfect Sesame Street Play Mat. $128 as shown

The fun and colorful Sesame Street Hopscotch Rug will be a playroom favorite. $250-$350

Add fun to the walls as well with the Sesame Street Sign Growth Chart. $59

The Cookie Monster and Big Bird Storage Bins are the most amazing I’ve ever seen. $59

Even if you’re not doing a Sesame Street theme, the Oscar the Grouch Hamper with Lid is totally appropriate for and kid’s room. $79

For lots of playtime fun, the Sesame Street Puppet Theater Set is incredible. The brownstone illustration is fantastic. $129

There’s lots of fun for toddlers with this graphic Sesame Street Wooden Stack and Pull Toy. $59

The finishing touch for any Sesame Street themed space is the Sesame Street Sign with Wall Hooks. $59

You can take Sesame Street on the go with you. I may put this Travel Duffel on my wish list– it’s so cute and reminds me of my childhood in the 80s. $49

And the kids can take backpacks and lunchboxes out with them. The designs are adorable, and The Count even makes an appearance in lunchbox form!

There’s so much more to explore in the Sesame Street for Nod collection so if you like any of this, please take a look. Try searching by your favorite character too. It brings up such cute results! Big Bird, Cookie Monster, Elmo, Abby Cadabby, or Oscar the Grouch.

New For Fall 2016 From The Land of Nod – Part 4: The Soft Stuff

From bedding to buffalo (yes, I will show you the giant stuffed buffalo), the soft goods coming out this fall at The Land of Nod are going on your wishlist.

First the new crib bedding collections are both simple and sweet. On the simple side, the Atomic Crib Bedding and Quilt from Ampersand Design Studio features some great patterns and shades of blue.

The Rosy Cloud Flannel Crib Bedding is a super simple modern pattern in a peachy shade of pink.

On the sweet side, the Royal Hippo Bedding is cartoon cuteness and the coordinating pieces are full of wonderful textures.

And maybe it reminds me of some of my parents’ floral bedding patterns from the 70s, but the Floral Rush Crib Bedding by Sarah York is really calling to me. I love the pattern on pattern of the sheet and the skirt.

Beyond bedding, Ashley Goldberg’s Shape Up Baby Activity Mat is going straight onto my baby gift pin board.

Then there are three new stuffed animals that are additions to the Charley Harper for Nod collection. You’ve got the Snake,

and the Cardinal (also a must-buy for you St. Louis baseball fans!!).

Finally, when you cross a beanbag chair with a mattress and a sleeping bag, you get the Soft Sidekicks. There are two Soft Sidekicks coming in September, the Dog,

and the Buffalo. See, didn’t I tell you? Bedding to Buffalo.

New For Fall 2016 From The Land of Nod – Part 3: Magical Mobiles

There’s nothing quite like having the perfect mobile to round out your nursery space. One of these five new mobiles at The Land of Nod might be just what you’re looking for or may even be something you can use to inspire the entire space!

Designed by Ashley Goldberg, the Pom Pom Mobile features three strands of puffy pom poms in an incredible collection of colors.

The Royal Charm Mobile is an exclusive design by Dinara Mirtalipova that features a castle with a fairytale scene.

Also from Dinara Mirtalipova, the Seafaring Mobile features a ship rolling on the sea and a while, octopus and narwhal among other sea creatures.

The Flying Elephants Mobile by Miga de Pan includes seven handmade elephants with colorful striped pants– of course!

Finally, my favorite is this Mod Metal Mobile by Lotta Jansdotter.

New For Fall 2016 From The Land of Nod – Part 2: Fun Accessories

Sometimes all your space needs is one bold, fun accessory that really makes a colorful statement. The Land of Nod has no shortage of these and these are my new favorites for 2016.

A really cute pouf can be much more than a place to put up your feet. Check out the Cloud Pouf,

Pretzel Pouf,

Taco Pouf,

Milk Shake Pouf,

or just the plain Milk Carton Pouf.

Three amazing new Nod Chairs by Donna Wilson are my favorite designs yet. The three animals are Parrot,

and Tiger.

Another incredible new tiger is this paper mache faux taxidermy piece by Sarah Walsh.

Or you may like the alpaca instead!

Finally, two beautiful new lamps are simple and sweet. The Unicorn Table Lamp and the

Elephant Table Lamp can add some friendly fun to an otherwise neutral, sophisticated room.

I just can’t get over all the cuteness.

New For Fall 2016 From The Land of Nod – Part 1: Furniture

I just went through my catalog to see what’s new for the nursery this fall from The Land of Nod (as I do each season), and there was so much new to share that we’re going to break it down across a few posts. Here are my favorite furniture picks…

First, the new Topside nursery collection features the Topside Crib in either midnight blue or white. There’s also a 3 drawer dresser, a wide dresser, a bookcase, and for future use, a bunkbed. The pieces include lots of storage and the rope pulls make the collection really unique.

Next, the Flex 4-in-1 Sleep Collection is a convertible system that includes pieces for a crib, bassinet, storage cart and toddler bed to grow with your child as needed.

The Larkin Crib is simple but stylish. Gold powdercoat?! Yes! And look at those legs!

If you’ve been waiting for the Jenny Lind Crib in white, the time is now.

A couple new toy boxes are worthy of mention. The Stuart Toy Box was designed by Bill Eastburn and is beautiful with the cutout design on the front panel and angled legs.

The Parkside Toy Box comes in white and blue and was designed by Royce Nelson exclusively for The Land of Nod.

The Land of Nod Meets Charley Harper

We’ve enjoyed Charley Harper books, toys and art kits, but now The Land of Nod is bringing Charley Harper’s art and style to your home in a new way. The Charley Harper for Nod collection features home decor, accessories and bedding full of bold patterns, shapes and colors.

Charley Harper at The Land of Nod

For the nursery, the Florida Keys bedding collection is stunning– and I’m not just saying that because I live in Florida. The collection includes a quilt, crib sheet, and changing pad cover.

Colorful pillows accent the bedding collections, but they’d be great to add to solid bedding sets as well. Take a look at the Bear, Raccoon, Ladybug Striped Sham, Ladybug, Tiger, and Butterfly throw pillows.

The Land of Nod Charley Harper Pillows

I’ve seen Giraffe and Flamingo growth charts before, not none as cute as these.

Finally, the Charley Harper for Nod rugs are bold and bright. These really make a statement.

Zebra Rug
Ladybug Rug

Flock of Birds Rug

I think you’ll love this limited edition collection! What are you putting in your shopping cart?
