Incy Interiors USA

Incy Interiors is an Australian company that I have followed on Instagram for a long time now. I’m constantly drooling over their designs and photos from afar, but just this year, it has become possible to shop Incy Interiors in the US!

For the nursery, Incy Interiors has three unique crib styles with many exciting color options to choose from.

This metal style is your fresh alternative to the traditional Jenny Lind style crib. Each color has a different name (Navy = Chloe, Cream = Reese, Pink = Romy, Brown = Sophia, Rose Gold = Ellie, Silver = Harry) and the cribs retail for $700.

I’m also particularly fond of the Teeny Crib, which comes in Green, Navy and Pink. This retails for $800 and is a perfect choice for any modern nursery. Pair it with a matching change table and your nursery is nearly complete.

The most amazing crib in the collection is the Georgia Crib ($1100) with a timeless look that can be the perfect showpiece in your modern nursery. The Lucy Change Table is the perfect accompaniment and there’s also a coordinating side table and bookcase.

Incy Interiors has also partnered with Hobbe Australia to bring us the Incy x Hobbe Rocker. This is a glamerous rocking chair with rose gold legs and blush or indigo fabric. This will be available at the end of the summer for $1300.

So many wonderful designs to expand your nursery choices, no?

New For Fall 2016 From The Land of Nod – Part 1: Furniture

I just went through my catalog to see what’s new for the nursery this fall from The Land of Nod (as I do each season), and there was so much new to share that we’re going to break it down across a few posts. Here are my favorite furniture picks…

First, the new Topside nursery collection features the Topside Crib in either midnight blue or white. There’s also a 3 drawer dresser, a wide dresser, a bookcase, and for future use, a bunkbed. The pieces include lots of storage and the rope pulls make the collection really unique.

Next, the Flex 4-in-1 Sleep Collection is a convertible system that includes pieces for a crib, bassinet, storage cart and toddler bed to grow with your child as needed.

The Larkin Crib is simple but stylish. Gold powdercoat?! Yes! And look at those legs!

If you’ve been waiting for the Jenny Lind Crib in white, the time is now.

A couple new toy boxes are worthy of mention. The Stuart Toy Box was designed by Bill Eastburn and is beautiful with the cutout design on the front panel and angled legs.

The Parkside Toy Box comes in white and blue and was designed by Royce Nelson exclusively for The Land of Nod.

If you love really love something and want to splurge on it in the nursery, think about where else you can use it or keep it as part of the child’s space as they grow. If you love the look of the board but need more affordable options for some pieces, check out the Azure Sea Nursery Inspiration Pin Board for more ideas or send me a message and I’m sure we can find beautiful alternatives for you!

What’s New from MDB at the ABC Kids Expo 2014

As usual, the MDB Family of brands had a really busy booth at ABC Kids Expo 2014. With brands like Babyletto, Nursery Works, and Ubabub there’s always a lot to see at MDB.

First we have Nursery Works. With four crib designs in its collection, this display was a show stopper. I introduced you to their new cribs a few weeks ago, but it was wonderful to see them in person.

Nursery Works Cribs

First is the Highlight Crib with the neon yellow metal base.

Next is the Halo Crib with the 24 karat gold square base.

Nursery Works Halo Crib

The Contour Crib is really spectacular and the design converts beautifully from bassinet to crib. I wish they had shown it in bassinet form as well, but they did have the mattress to illustrate the size and the pieces that come with the crib.

The Empire Rockers are shown here in some new and limited edition fabrics.

There are also some fun limited edition fabrics for the Sleepytime Rocker. I’d personally vote for some colorful solids, but you can always order custom upholstery.

On the Babyletto side, the new Gelato collection features a simple design with colorful leg options. Choose Cool Mint or Spring Yellow.

I like the way the new Bingo Collection incorporates color as well as storage.

There will be three new bedding patterns added to Babyletto’s line up. I particularly like the tulips and the aztec style design.

We got a preview of this rocking chair last year, but this year it’s being shown with a new storage piece with a neon accent.

And the Lemonade Playset isn’t new, but how cute does it look with all the colors?

Coming Soon: What New From the Million Dollar Baby Family at ABC Kids Expo 2013

The MDB Family of brands had a really strong showing at ABC Kids Expo 2013.  With brands like Babyletto, Nursery Works (used to be one word- now it seems to be two), and Ubabub under its umbrella, they have a whole range of products for modern nursery furniture lovers across the board.

First from Nursery Works, the Vetro Crib looks better than ever in this gray Shadow Acrylic color.  While the completely clear one disappears a little too much, the Shadow Vetro is a dark crib with a nice level of transparency.

Nurseryworks Gray Vetro Crib

Nursery Works also showed off it’s Empire Rocker in this crazy custom camouflage fabric.  It’s a great reminder that any of their rockers can still be ordered with your custom fabric choices, but most importantly, notice that this isn’t actually a rocker!  You will be able to order replacement legs to change your rocker into a stationary chair.  This is a great way to extend the life of your furniture!  I believe the replacement legs will be about $200.

DSC_1463

It’s always a pleasure to see the Ubabub pieces in person, but they also debuted the prototype of the Pod Dresser.  Designed to coordinate with the incredible Pod Cot, I hope to see a version of this available before too long!

Ubabub Pod Dresser

Babyletto is entering the world of toddler furniture in a big way next year.  With THREE new table and chair sets, they’re covering a range of modern styles.  I can’t decide which I like best.

DSC_1464

No, I lied.  This Lemonade Playset is my favorite!

DSC_1466

And it’s not just table and chair sets from Babyletto.  Their Skip toddler bed is really sweet.

DSC_1468

I’m not sure how I feel about Babyletto’s new rocking chair.  Thoughts?

DSC_1469

But I KNOW I love the Lolly Collection.

DSC_1471

Finally, Babyletto is entering the textile business and I’m super impressed with the results.  Designed in-house, the top two designs on each side will be released first with the bottom patterns coming out further in the future.  You can also look for Pure Core and Coco Core non-toxic mattresses from Babyletto in 2014.  These will come in regular and mini crib sizes.

Babyletto Bedding

Last but not least, DaVinci’s ever-popular Jenny Lind crib will soon be available in this sunny yellow color.

DSC_1474

Congratulations to the MDB Family on a great show.  To celebrate, they’re offering you 10% off any purchase on Babyletto.com from now through November 15th.  Unfortunately that won’t cover any of the new things here, but they do already have a great collection.

MDB at ABC Kids Expo 2012

The MDB Family had one of the most impressive showings at the ABC Kids Expo this year.  With their diverse family of brands and lots of new nursery furniture collections, there was lots to see.

First from Nurseryworks, one of the most spectacular pieces at the show was this District Convertible Crib.  This particular one is made of reclaimed white oak so it’s gorgeous as well as green.

Nurseryworks also displayed a limited edition blue Vetro crib.

Babyletto had the Skip collection.  This is now my top favorite from Babyletto.

Even MDB’s DaVinci brand (which usually doesn’t quite fall into the modern nursery category) had a couple items that caught my attention.  I think their Highland Collection is a beautiful bridge between traditional and modern.  The straight lines make all the difference.

And the Jenny Lind Crib in blue is a fun modern twist on a traditional style.

Finally, MDB was debuting the Ubabub range of products.  As I’ve said, this Australian line is set to hit the US shortly and was getting a lot of attention.

So what do you think of MDB’s newest offerings?  Any favorites?

New From The Land Of Nod

Oh my.  I have come to get really excited about those days of the year when The Land of Nod (one of my favorite affiliates!) comes out with their new products for the season.  I can’t wait to share them with you.  At the same time I know I’m in for a marathon blogging session, because there’s SO MUCH I’ve got to post for you to see!  Here goes…

1) Furniture

This new low-rise crib made by El Greco Woodworking exclusively for The Land of Nod is an incredible new addition to their furniture collection and an excellent option for any nursery.  The crib is shown here in grey but also comes in white and white with espresso base and white with maple base.  They are all beautiful.  $900

I love the raspberry and azure Jenny Lind beds.  The fun colors really make it!  $549-$649

And the As You Wish Upholstered Bed is a simple design with a lovely curved headboard.  This can be upholstered in a number of different fabrics but the one shown below is pretty fabulous.  $899-$999

As You Wish Storage Benches are seating and storage in one.  Pick your color for $350.

2) Bedding

There a a few beautiful new crib bedding sets that I love including Not a Peep, In the Mix (pink and khaki), Counting Sheep, and Bazaar.

There are lots of cute new decorative pillows as well.

My favorites are the Freshly Picked Apple Pillow and the Head in the Clouds Pillow. $19 each

There is also a huge collection of new kids bedding but there’s too much to share, so just take a look.

3) Decor

I’m quite sure these Spell Ya Later Letters are going to be a huge hit.  The letters of the alphabet (about $3 each) are available in girl and boy colors– but you could totally mix and match them.  Then you buy a 3 yard shoelace ($4) and voila, you have yourself a super cool name banner.  Really thinking of getting this for my boys, and maybe for all the kids I know!

There are a few cute lamp shades and I can see the new pennant shade and woodgrain shade being super easy to integrate into fun modern nursery designs.

The new (faux) leather poufs would function as bright pops of color as well as a seat or ottoman. $79

I also really like these stacking floor cushions.  22″ for $29, 27″ for $39 and 32″ for $49.  These come in pink and blue.

One final thing I’ve got to share is the Dot Matrix Gumball Rug.  4’x6′ for $350.  We’ve been seeing this here and there on blogs over the past year, but now you can buy one too!

I hope you’re inspired and go take a look at all the stuff I skipped.  Kudos again to The Land of Nod for their excellent choices and always keeping it fresh.

Real Room Tour: Blue But Gender Neutral Modern Nursery

Jodie Okun of Jodie Okun Interiors (also the mother of twins!) designed this beautiful space for her good friends– and what lucky friends they are!

I love the color combination with the aqua blue and the persimmon orange of the notNeutral Season rug and the back of the bookcase.

Just a quick comment about the Jenny Lind Crib.  While it is in no way “modern,” I fully support anyone who loves the ultra-traditional Jenny Lind style crib.  The style comes from before the era of the sleigh style crib that drives me batty, so it’s a great choice for something affordable and that will give you an eclectic look.  I think I might have to start a pin board just to show you Jenny Lind cribs in more modern nurseries in case you still don’t believe me.

The reading corner here is cozy and bright, and the art wall around the changing area is totally wonderful.  You may have noticed that it’s all about art walls these days and Jodie has executed it perfectly.

Speaking of art, her daughter did the series of pig drawings that hang over the crib.  It would be a great idea to have older siblings contribute to a new baby’s room with a great project like this.  The mobile is Cyclephants from Flensted.

Since I know you’re going to ask, Jodie and her friend found the giraffe at Homegoods.  How come I never find anything cool at Homegoods (except in other people’s carts)?!

I love when there’s an inspiration board to share with a nursery tour.  It’s a great opportunity to show how these images translate into an actual space.  Jodie really brought her vision to life in this project.

Thank you to Jodie for sharing these wonderful photos and her creative design.  I look forward to seeing any nurseries you put together in the future.  Go ahead to Jodie Okun Interiors to see more of her work and read more about this nursery in her original nursery reveal post!
