While everyone’s been using gray in the nursery, this black and white trend has been creeping up. Jessica even mentioned it in her room tour this week. It’s hard to tell from the amazing selection of black and white textiles available these days, but it used to be really hard to find something simple like modern black and white crib bedding. I just can’t help admiring the black and white trend (you should see my office!), and here are some examples of the amazing spaces for kids that just use black and white…

One thing that I really love about the black and white nurseries is that they usually reflect a whole house aesthetic. Usually the entire home is monochromatic and the nursery is an extension of the rest of the home. That’s exactly what it should be. If your home is colorful and warm, you’re not going to stop at the nursery door and do black and white in there. The colors will flow in as well. But if your home is mostly black, white and natural materials, that shouldn’t stop at the door to your child’s room either.
