Real Room Tour: Isla’s Sanctuary

Laura of the blog Sopapillas and Sausages was kind enough to share the photos of her beautiful baby Isla‘s lovely and peaceful nursery.  It’s a beautiful space for a beautiful baby, and you’re going to want to look carefully at some of the creative and personal details she included in this incredible room.

Buckley, the faux taxidermy moose head was the starting point for the design.  He was the backdrop for Laura’s adorable series of bump photos and thus earned a central spot in the nursery.

The mobile hanging over Isla’s Oeuf Sparrow crib was a collaborative creation and features homemade birds and Wee Gallery cards.

I love the look of the industrial cart in the reading area.  I suggest pieces like this all the time and think this proves how incredible this can look.  It adds such great texture and contrast.

Here’s an idea that I’m going to use… the “Isn’t She Lovely” print hangs on Laura’s college drafting board.  I LOVE the idea to use it as a way to display artwork!  I have one of those and it’s just been sitting behind a door!  Time to repurpose that baby.  Thanks Laura!

Under the famous moose head, Laura filled the daybed with a sensory wonderland of differently textured pillows.  It will be a comfortable place to lounge and explore.

The plaque over the lightswitch was in Laura’s childhood room and will now follow her daughter as she grows up.  I love when parents can add items that connect their own childhoods with that of their children.

The garland adds an extra punch of needed color and came from the baby shower.  This makes it both decorative and sentimental.

For a complete source list for the items in Isla’s sanctuary, take a look at the original nursery tour on Laura’s blog.  I’m flattered that Laura claims this blog (and pinterest) was the primary source of inspiration for this beautiful nursery.  Thank you so much for sharing this space with me and my readers Laura.  I’m sure it will inspire many more moms.

  9. The construction industry features a poor reputation with regards to cost control, and tales of budget overspends are legion. This is often assigned to
deficiencies in a and on the list of professionals who work there.

Whoever is always to blame at the conclusion of the day, the
issue can often be traced that the the initial budget was
unrealistic first. To set an inadequate budget, watch it overrun, and after that
look for a scapegoat can have become common practice nonetheless it achieves nothing.

It is therefore incredibly important that a sensible cost plan be ready and
agreed in the earliest possible stage. Obviously, the owner will prepare rough budgets taking a
look at basic project viability, but the moment he is able he should obtain advice from his selected team.

Good professionals won’t simply believe the rough budget already prepared.
They will give objective advice, such as level of confidence
inside estimate plus an assessment on the likely outcomes of changes for
the specification, so a realistic view is usually taken through
the owner. It is better to recognize the issue immediately, and customize the scope or specification to fit, instead of be forced into late changes
as well as omissions which slow up the effectiveness on the finished project.
