Modern Babyproofing from Rhoost

Baby-proofing isn’t known to be particularly stylish, but the folks at Rhoost are making waves with their innovative and unobtrusive baby-proofing products.

I’ve been aware of their product line for a while now, but it was only at ABC Kids that I really discovered a new must-have that I’ve got to recommend.  The Rhoost finger guard is one of those items that I truly wish I had before.  I faced a terrifying episode where my older son shut the door on my new-walker’s tiny fingers.  The little one’s fingers appeared flattened by the door jamb and I drove frantically to the doctor’s office with a screaming baby and remorseful toddler.  Fortunately, it looked a lot worse than it actually was and nothing was permanently damaged, but I truly could have avoided the trauma with a set of finger guards.  For $11, you get a package of two guards that hang nearly hidden over the door hinges and prevent the door from shutting all the way.

As you can see, my fingers are out of harm’s way and you barely notice the guard in place.  This is so much nicer than any other finger guards I’ve seen.  I have to mention that my dad really loves the finger guards.  He’s not into baby stuff or buying anything not completely necessary, but he’s mentioned these specifically several times as being great.

There was one more Rhoost item I was curious to try.  We have glass dining table tops at both our house and my parents’ house and predictably, this has caused a disaster.  Running around the house, as kids often do, one of my children ran into the corner of a glass table and sported a perfectly rectangular gash on his forehead for weeks.  I can still picture the wailing and tears that were the result of that episode.  Had I owned these Rhoost table corner guards, we could have prevented the entire horrible scene.  It took me a few minutes to figure out how these go on, but once I figured out how they went, it was easy to install.  A 4-pack is $15.

Thanks to Rhoost who sent me a package of finger guards and table corner guards because I was really curious to try them out.  As you can see, I highly recommend them.

The packaging is even really nice so these could make wonderful gifts.

Rhoost also makes blind cord winders, child proof cabinet locks and outlet covers— so pretty much all your child-proofing basics.

I was not compensated for this post, but Rhoost did sent me the Finger Guards and Corner Protectors.  My opinions are entirely my own.

  1. Hmmm, I tried to check their website – but can’t seem to figure out how to install the finger guard… any idea? 🙂

  2. You just hook it over the hinges. It’s more just putting it in place, not really anything you have to install. Super easy and effective.
