They Posted These So I Don’t Have To

These are my favorite posts from around the internet this past week.

This American Flag Map I found on Swissmiss is a beauty and would make a great nursery piece.

How can you not be impressed with Baby H’s room featured this week on ohdeedoh?  That bull’s-eye rug from West Elm really is a show stopper!

Mari posted this incredible wooden bird mobile in Keepin It Snug: Snug Studio on Small for Big.  I just can’t get over it.  Awesome!

Mini Piccolini posted a great find with these Acne Jr – Toys to Keep Forever.  You’ve got to check out their online shop.

These Vintage-style Play Time cards by Seam Sims on babyology have the cutest, brightest and most cheerful illustrations you could ever hope to see.  They just make me smile.

Did you see anything awesome that you think I missed?

Winnie the Pooh

I admit that Winnie the Pooh is generally the opposite of what the modern nursery world is all about, but today I’m going to make a few exceptions.

I took my boys to see Winnie The Pooh yesterday afternoon and was reminded just how cute, charming and innocent the world of Winnie the Pooh is.  Having read the books to them (and of course myself as a child), I felt like I had already seen the movie.  It was like a brand new pair of shoes that’s comfortable from day one.

In honor of this new modern classic, I will officially be falling in love with Winnie the Pooh all over again.

Start with your very own Pooh bear and a set of the books by A. A. Milne.  The modern Pooh Bear is the Organic Cotton Eco Plush.  You can get an organic Pooh as well as his friends Piglet, Tigger and Eeyore from Giggle for $25.  Even more importantly, every nursery should also have a complete Pooh Library.  These are timeless classics that will be passed down through the generations.

If you’d like to take it a step further and add the world of Pooh to your decor, you’re going to need these Winnie the Pooh cushions from Atsuyo Et Akiko.  This is one of the most delightful Disney collaborations I’ve ever seen.  (first spotted on Paul & Paula!)

Finally, because I am one of the biggest Lego Duplo fans around, you can’t go wrong with the Lego Duplo Winnie the Pooh sets.

My 5 year old wants to get the Lego sets for his little brother for the holidays.  I’m pretty sure he’s going to make sure his brother shares.

Have you seen the new movie yet?

Etsy Find: Finka Studio

A fresh and lovely etsy find for you today.  The modern, minimal prints from Finka Studio are sweet enough to inspire an entire nursery design.

My favorites are the Ms. Sun and Mr. Moon prints ($35 for the pair).

This Travel the World Map is perfectly simple and deserves a place among the other maps in my “World Maps as Decor” post ($35).

I’ve added Finka Studio to the all new “Featured Etsy Sites” page that you can access from the top left area of the blog.  If you’re overwhelmed when visiting etsy, this collection of fun shops is a great place to start!

Real Room Tour: Perfectly Not Pink Girl’s Nursery

I’ve got to admit, I’m a little jealous of those of you who get to get to decorate for a little girl.  I always imagined having a little tomboy with denim overalls. pigtails and a red hooded sweatshirt.  While I don’t hold it against anyone who goes with a pink nursery, this room is a little more like the look I’d be going for.

Kerry, of the blog First Time Fancy, put this peaceful space together for a little girl who is expected any day now!  Formerly an uninspiring master bedroom, it is now exactly the opposite.

The fabric in the curtains inspired the entire nursery design.  I’m enjoying the aqua and mustard yellow color combination.  It’s got a sort of peaceful, old fashioned, homey feeling.  Adding to that feeling is the white wicker chair that was in Kerry’s own nursery when she was a baby.  You can’t argue with that kind of history.

The dresser was given a new life with a coat of paint and is a bright accent in the room as well as great storage.

The gallery wall is just waiting to be filled with the new baby’s initial.

The perfectly coordinated mobile was a great DIY project.  Kerry posted a wonderful tutorial if you want to give it a shot.

I love a nursery full of books.  Whenever I feel like something is missing in a child’s room, inevitably there are no books around.  There’s no such problem here thanks to Kerry’s handy father.  So sweet.

Finally, how precious is the little shoe display?!  Yet another reason to be jealous of those of you with little baby girls!

You can get more information and additional photos in Kerry’s Nursery Reveal post on First Time Fancy.  She’s also got lots of posts that chronicle the progress of the entire space.  It’s worth a look as it’s fun to see all the love and thought that went into creating the perfect place to welcome the newest addition to their family.

Thanks so much Kerry for sharing the wonderful pictures of your nursery with us!  It’s absolutely precious.

They Posted These So I Don’t Have To

These are my favorite posts from around the internet this past week.

Ohdeedoh put together a new collection of Alphabet Prints from Adventures to Ice Cream.  They found 10 great ones including the Mimosa print we gave away in May!

I can’t help admiring this colorful vintage tea towel on Kickcan & Conkers.  It’s a great find in her post “Oh, Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat, Where Have You Been?“  The link is in the post and you’ll have to hurry to get one before someone else does!

I was excited to see this “Sneak peek: Blabla Kids Farm Animals” on little. lovely.  Lots of fun new dolls and pillows.

There’s a great Giveaway: a gift voucher from Treetop Studio on bloesem kids.  This etsy shop is new to me and I’m impressed.  Lots of nice things.

Finally, Amanda’s got another great Word of the Week with 18 fun raccoon picks.  Always love the “Word of the Week” on Coos & Ahhs!

More to Love From Ninetonine

First of all, I’m just going to insist that you visit Ninetonine’s website and examine it thoroughly.  This Spanish company has an English version of their site where you’ll be able to see all of their products and beautiful photos.

I’m so happy that Ninetonine products are becoming more accessible to us in the US and that they have been expanding their line.  I’ve had their zebra crib on buymoderncribs for a while, and just last month I was excited to add three more pieces to the guides on BuyModernBaby.

My first two new additions were the Kits Rocking Horse (in either white or gray) and Kits Shelf from the Kits Collection.  I have a soft spot for rocking toys and since no nursery should be without books, you need plenty of book storage.  The Kits collection also includes a play table with seating options.

I also added these pieces from the Nona collection.  This is an incredibly gorgeous set with a two-tone changer and a white or wood crib.

This last design is not yet in production but is so drool-worthy that I had to share.  The Neo crib transforms into the most elegant little toddler bed you’ve ever seen.

You can purchase any of these items (except the Neo crib) as well as their original line of products directly from ninetonine and they ship around the world.  There are also a few select retailers (Spunky Sprout in the US) that carry ninetonine.

Wallpaper from Trendy Peas

Who knew my wallpaper post was so incomplete.  I’ve been a big fan of Trendy Peas for a while now, and I’m excited about their wallpaper designs as well.  They are modern and fun, but subtle enough to live with for a long time.  I can’t wait to see these popping up in nursery photos.

Stripes, Paper Plane

ABC, Owls

Things That Go, Birch Tree

The wallpaper patterns are $99 a roll, with each roll measuring 24″ x 120″.  They’re all available in a few different color schemes so play with the options on their website!

New CB2 in the Nursery: Fall 2011

As usual, CB2′s got tons of fun furnishings and decor items that work great for nurseries and kids’ spaces.  First I have to let you know that the hopscotch rug is back!

This is a fun choice, especially with gray being as popular as it is.

I also like the Lolli Rug

and this Satellite Rug is speaking to me.  Don’t be surprised if you see it in a future inspiration board.

These are some interesting pillows to have fun with (Dearest, Squirrelly and Hey Hey- left to right).

When I was planning our nursery, I had the hardest time finding a great armoire.  These two wardrobes are exciting new choices for some great storage.  On the left you’ve got the Monolith Red Wardrobe and the Veer Wardrobe (love this one!) is on the right.

Finally, I know you’ve been looking for a modern cuckoo clock, right?  Here ya go… CB2′s Cuckoo Clock.

Use your imagination and see what else inspires you in CB2′s new fall additions.
