They Posted These So I Don’t Have To
These are some of my favorite posts from around the web over the past week.
Petit Eco Kids picked five favorite map/travel themed items. My favorite is this vintage globe by ImagineNations.

Amanda at Coos & Ahhs put together this “Bright Out” toddler’s room collection to celebrate spring. I love the fun bright colors and fun accessories. Click the link to see the rest of it!

Inhabitots showed us how you can “Get Organized with 3 Sprouts Organic Storage Caddy.” The 3 Sprouts bins are fun, but these caddies are a great addition to the collection. I especially like the mouse and there’s also a beaver.

Chalk + dot put together this chic nursery mood board “Up, Up, and Away!” inspired by airplane travel. A great mix of styles.

Finally, since my oldest is going to be 5 1/2 on Monday, this Tooth Fairy post on tiny & little really caught my eye. I just know he’s going to start losing those adorable little baby teeth any time now

Finally this week, I have to share this adorable yet somewhat impractical Training Dresser from Peter Bristol that I first spotted on ohdeedoh. Since then it’s been making the blog rounds. You can see more about the dresser on peterbristol.net. It’s also available in a girl version.

Have a wonderful and peaceful weekend with your friends and family.
Ovum Baby Bassinet
The Ovum Baby Bassinet was “coming soon” for an awfully long time. It was on buymodernbassinets for a couple years, but eventually I gave up hope of it actually coming out and took it off the list.
Well…. I might have to put it back!

Now you can actually custom order the Ovum bentwood bassinet through the designer, Heidi Newell. You’ll need $1800 to bring this functional sculpture (including an organic felt wool mattress) into your home.
The genius of this piece is the dual-position base which rocks or can be turned on its side to stand stationary. The basket portion also has convenient handles so your sleeping infant can be carried quietly into another room. This is the ultimate modern bassinet.
Thanks to Coochicoos for the info!

Coming Soon! Cleanwater Collection from 4 moms
I’ve been waiting for the debut of this collection from 4moms for a while now and the wait is almost over.

The ingenious Cleanwater Collection, which includes an infant tub, bath sponge and spout cover, is coming to stores on June 15th! The unique design of the tub lets clean water run in while the dirty water flows out. The tub and the spout cover feature color coded digital thermometers that show the water temperature at a glance.

Every day from now until then, 4moms will be picking a lucky winner to receive the collection when it launches. Become a 4moms insider and enter to win! I’ll be entering every day just for the chance to have one on hand for baby shower gifts!
Coming Soon: A Rainbow of Stroller Flavors
If the Orbit G2 stroller colors were too tame for you, or you’d like to freshen the look of yours up (perhaps for the next baby), Orbit Color packs will be available in mid-June. For $120, you can get a brand new sunshade and upholstery set in one of 9 different colors.

Etsy Find: Happy Planets Series Art Blocks
I’ve posted about John W. Golden before, but I wanted to show you this cute series of 3 9″x9″ art blocks that feature the Earth, Moon and Sun.

They’re available at his etsy shop for $95 and they come ready to hang so you don’t have to have them framed.
There’s also a much smaller 3″x3″ set for $24, but I don’t think the tiny ones have as much of an impact.
Use the coupon code DADSNGRADS for 30% off your order (for a limited time).
Real Room Tour: Marcus’ Soothing Safari
Yean, aka Mrs. Julius, of the blog “My Sunrise, Sunshine & Sunset“, was so kind to send me a message sharing photos of her gorgeous son Marcus’ nursery. I am so flattered that she was able to use this blog to find some inspiration for this chic and soothing space.

The focal point of the room is the crib wall, where a Gulliver crib from Ikea sits against the Birch Trees Vinyl Wall Decal from wallwordz. This is a very popular nursery motif and I love the pops of yellow from the birds in this particular version. I also love the bedding choice from babydarling on etsy, which Yean discovered in my post from last February. Awesome!

The shelf above the crib features a Fisher Price Teaching Clock that belonged to Marcus’ father as a child. I love when people use their own treasured toys in their children’s rooms. In case your parents threw yours out decades ago, you can pick up a remake of the clock (or lots of other Fisher Price classics).

The Ikea Expedit features some closed storage (which is great for reducing visual clutter) as well as some wild stuffed occupants.

Yean made the crib mobile herself and so it’s super customized to match the nursery perfectly.

The reading and changing area includes some personal mementos as well as some Ikea staples like the dresser and the chair.

Yean discovered the animal alphabet print from inktree press in one of my posts and had it customized to go with the colors in this room. Love it!

Spread throughout the room are some additional elephants.

Congratulations Yean on the incredible job you did decorating this nursery and on your adorable little guy! Thank you so much for sharing it with me and for supporting Buy Modern Baby!
To read more about this nursery, please visit the nursery post on Yean’s blog. She was able to put all this together for less than her $1500 budget! You also don’t want to miss the sweetest video of a 4 day old Marcus peacefully enjoying his cozy little spot.
(If you would like me to feature your nursery here as well, please drop a line to esther@buymodernbaby.com I really love getting those emails!)
They Posted These So I Don’t Have To
These are some of my favorite posts from around the web over the past week.
I loved this rocking and riding toy roundup, “For Your Wee Ones: Rock ‘n’ Roll“, on Spearmint Baby. Lauren from With Two Cats, is really knocking ‘em outta the park over there.

The latest “Get the Look” post on hoolaboola is full of nursery ideas and inspiration. There’s so much there to love– you have to take a look.

I’ve been meaning to put together one of these “Online Magazine Round-Up” posts, but bloesem kids has it covered. If you’ve heard about these but haven’t gotten around to checking them out, or if you’ve got a few you like and want to see more, go read the post.

I love these “Woop Studios Animal Prints” found on design*sponge. Any of them could be great nursery art.

Finally, get a load of this incredible train table design I first spotted on Minor Details. As it stands, it’s art, but there’s real potential in that idea!

Feel free to share your favorite posts in the comments and have a wonderful weekend. We’re kicking it off with a play date and back to back birthday parties. That reminds me, I’ve got some gifts to shop for!
TrueModern Playhouse by Edgar Blazona
The new MD-20 TrueModern Playhouse by Edgar Blazona of Modular Dwellings is just the kind of thing I’ve been looking for, except that it’s only meant to be used indoors and I want one for the backyard. Not all of us are handy enough to design and build a playhouse from scratch.
MD-20 TrueModern Playhouse- $1350

For other modern playhouse options, here are a couple of great posts:
Modern Playhouses on Modern Mini Houses
Then and Now: Groovy Playhouses on Modern Kiddo
My 5 year old is already preparing to invite his friends to his new backyard clubhouse, which does not yet exist! He made three of these invitations today, one for each of his best male friends (apparently it’s “no girls allowed”).

Rich or Reasonable: Upholstered Child Sized Chair
I was tempted to buy an orange Ava Toddler Chair from Jennifer Delonge for half price once, but that little beauty stayed at the store. I still think about it. I think that means I should have gotten it.

The Jennifer Delonge Toddler Chair and slightly larger Child Chair are not only expensive (price depends on the size and fabric), but they’re hard to find, so if you happen to be looking for a pink one, you might consider the Skyline Furniture Kid’s Modern Chair as an alternative. If pink doesn’t work for you, consider splurging!
