Absolutely- I see people using ordinary storage pieces as changing surfaces all over the place- and I think it’s great. For many people, cutting down on items that are only useful for a short amount of time is not only smart and economical, it allows for more interesting furniture choices. This particular credenza isn’t really a good changing surface- it’s pretty low- but most dressers are a good height.
I personally just sit down on the ground for most changes so usually just a towel on the ground with a trash bag, wipes and diaper is all I need. I keep stashes around in different cabinets in the house to be handy whenever I need them!
