Stephanie, from the blog Kitschicagoan recently completed her baby’s nursery and you’re going to love what she’s done. She started off with an incredibly fun mood board featuring wild animals and bright, citrusy colors.
In bringing her vision to life, Stephanie stuck to her original scheme and it turned out even better than you’d imagine!
This corner of the room features a Hemnes chest from Ikea topped off with an orange changing pad cover from The Land of Nod and that incredible aqua mirror which she found at the vintage bazaar– score!
I love the hardware update on the chest of drawers. Stephanie replaced the original knobs with Aqua Glass Zinnia Knobs from Anthropologie.
The daybed is from west elm (sorry- it’s no longer available) and Stephanie accessorized it with some great pillows from Urban Outfitters. The abacus over the daybed is a great wall decor piece from CB2 (also used here).
You just can’t go wrong with a white Gulliver crib from Ikea and the bedding is simple solids.
I love seeing petitcollage’s Jungle Friends Bamboo Mobile here to go with the art and the rug.
The cozy reading corner is full of useful features like a book display and storage basket. It features the ever beautiful Sleepytime Rocker from Nurseryworks.
Additional storage is provided by a tall bookcase from Target and I adore the piggy bank and wooden squirrel that live there. Finally, because I know someone is going to ask, the paint is Benjamin Moore Aura (which I love) in AF-770 “Storm.”
At first glance I’m sure you’ll agree that this nursery looks designer expensive, but if you break it all down, it was done on a rather reasonable budget. All the planning and coordinating came together to create a super fun and chic design. It’s a space to be proud of that both Stephanie and baby Claire can enjoy for years to come. Congratulations Stephanie (both on the room and your baby’s arrival!) and thanks for sharing these wonderful photos of your inspirational nursery! Visit Stephanie’s nursery post for more information.
