Real Room Tour: Modern Travel Themed Nursery
I have a few pictures of this wonderful travel-themed nursery to share with you.

We’ve been talking a little bit about using maps in decor and I love this subtle mural treatment.

This is a great display of their mold-o-rama collection. It’s great to fill your baby’s room with fun things that you love.

The travel-theme is obvious but not overwhelming, with a feature in the room being an ELK Lighting Novelty Prop Plane.

Finally, my favorite part of the room’s decor is the collection of colorful travel posters by David Klein.
I have personally been looking for David Klein’s St. Louis poster for my own home!
Thanks to Justin from Mid-Century Austin Living for allowing us to share these photos. I hope the room is a jumping off point for many travel adventures!

New Addition: Portico and Hathaway Gliders from Crate & Barrel
My most recent nursery seating discovery is from one of my personal go-to stores for furniture– Crate & Barrel. If it’s at Crate & Barrel, it’s probably got that simple, casual, comfortable, modern style that I like to think is my own. These two gliders fit that description perfectly.

The Hathaway Swivel Glider comes stock in Sand (shown) or can be ordered in 14 other colors for $999 (now on sale for $850).

The Portico Swivel Glider comes stock in this beautiful spruce shade and looks exquisitely comfy. It comes in eight additional colors and also retails for $999 (now on sale for $850).
It’s wonderful when you can purchase nursery furniture that isn’t specifically designed for a nursery. These types of pieces can have a much longer lifespan in your home. I could see one of these in a comfy corner of my own bedroom.
These two chairs are my latest additions to buymodernbabyseats- where you can find my complete list of great gliders for your nursery. There’s also a great gilder discussion going on at my Gus* Sparrow Glider post.

Real Room Tour: A Room With A View
Emily, from Emphasis Added emailed me a link to her daughter’s nursery tour and I was smitten.

I love the description of her plan for the room. She wanted a space that was quirky and bright– a place that fostered curiosity and felt like home. When your home is a stylish flat with a view of downtown Chicago, this is the perfect homey nursery.

As we often see in modern nurseries, the walls and furnishings are neutral and the fun and color is added through art and accessories. I love the turquoise and yellow accents in the reading corner and am impressed with the use of large scale art pieces throughout the room. “The Bananas in Baccarat” painting has a wonderful story behind it.

The crib is Oeuf’s Sparrow crib in White and you can’t help but notice the rainbow granny blanket from Screamy Mimi (whose nursery tour we featured months ago). Above the crib is a colorful abacus from CB2. I’m excited to see it used as nursery decor a la my suggestion last summer.

The library corner features a leaning bookshelf from West Elm and lots of colorful items including that little reading stool.

The changer is the matching Oeuf Sparrow Dresser / Changing Table and Emily is really loving her Monte Luca Glider
. I especially love the periodic table poster. What a great “geeky” alternative to the alphabet poster.

All the little details combine to make a special, unique and personal space.

Thank you so much Emily for sharing the photos of this beautiful space. You can feel the love and excitement about welcoming your upcoming arrival to her new home. It makes me so happy to know there are little girls growing up in creative, enriching spaces like these.

They Posted These So I Don’t Have To
Posting my weekly links a little early this week. These are some of my favorite posts and things that I want to share with you from around the web over the past week.
First, tomorrow is Bloggers Day of Silence. Please take some time to consider the disaster in Japan and make a donation to ShelterBox, the Red Cross or Save the Children. There’s not going to be much out there to read, so spend your time online with your credit card and make a difference.
I’m crazy about this Nursery Nook on Spearmint Baby– and not just because it features Minimalist Muppets by Eric Slager. This puts the “fun” in functional.

Ohdeedoh has me wanting these Light Switch Stickers from Henrietta Swift.

Our spring rainbow theme was on beautiful display on l’il magoolie’s post Colourful Lantern Inspiration. Take a look and be inspired to add color to your life.

Along with this week’s theme of welcoming spring, A Punch Of Color posted this rainbow display of Planes, Trains & Automobiles. Actually all I see is trains, trucks and a bus- but that’s what my boys like best anyway!

Green Toddler Bedroom
In case you haven’t seen my preschooler’s bedroom, since it’s green, I thought I’d share a photo today.

Featuring Argington Ayres twin bed, Boodalee Trees bedding and Constant Dreamer Prints.
And here’s my not-quite-three-year-old* helping to pick just the right shade. In case you’re wondering, the winning color was Lime Rickey by Sherwin-Williams.

See the ohdeedoh room tour for more pictures. The room is a just little different now- after about two years. I may re-shoot the pictures to show the changes.

Shopping Guide: Inspired by Green
Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Here’s a small sampling of nursery and baby items and brands that I feature on the buymodernbaby product guides that are available in green!
Baby Feeding Featured Brand: Green Eats from Green Toys (coming soon!)
We’ll be debuting buymodernfeeding on buymodernbaby.com at the end of the month, so we’ve been spending the last few weeks introducing our top favorite feeding brands and products. Last week we talked about Beaba, and today I’m excited to show you the new line of tableware for kids from Green Toys.
Green Toys are already a favorite of mine for their line of products made from 100% recycled plastic. They are some of my favorite gifts to give (and for my boys to receive!). Now the new Green Eats line will be picking up where the toy dish set left off. These BPA-free, phthalate-free and dishwasher safe plates, bowls, utensils and cups are perfect for toddlers and for planet earth.

I especially like the divided trays because I love to be sure I’m giving the boys a number of different items to try at any given meal.
As soon as these start shipping I’ll add them to the feeding guide.
