Red Rockers: Rich or Reasonable

I discovered the J.I.P. Rocking Bench on one of my favorite blogs, Small for Big.  While I love it and would absolutely pick this design for my boys, I couldn’t help but think of Ikea’s Rusig Rocker as an alternative.

The J.I.P. rocking bench is also available in white.  I’ve added both rockers to the list on buymoderntoys.

Oeuf Robin Crib: New Finishes

We’re all fans on Oeuf’s Robin Crib, right?!  I mean, How can you go wrong with an Oeuf crib for less than $600?  Well, now there’s even more to love about the Robin Crib.

Just take a look at the all new Espresso finish ($590), which will be shipping in March.

The Robin Crib is also available in its original Natural finish as well as All-White, which is available exclusively at our affiliate giggle.  Both retail for $565.

Etsy Find: Little Korboose

I’ve had Little Korboose on my list to show you for a while now, and I hope you love them as much as I.

My top favorite Little Korboose products are the stuffed pillows.  You can find a little pillow ($25) to suit almost any nursery.

The Alphabet Poster is charming as well.  You can get it framed for $65 or unframed for $25, and it also comes in a blue/green color scheme.

The screen printed wall art and canvases are incredibly sweet.  I’m trying to think of someplace to use them myself.

I also want to point out the star garland.  It’s a really unique and lovely and would go well anywhere ($18).

Be sure to visit Little Korboose and see all the items they have to offer.

President’s Day: Get To Know the US Presidents

When I was young, we watched Animaniacs every day after school.  I also majored in History in college, so I’m going to have to share this video with you today.

Happy Presidents Day (US)

ABCs, 123s and… the presidents.  Get them involved in history and politics early.  In the 4th grade, one of our classmates (I say “our” because my husband and I were both in the same class) could name all the presidents in order.  It was very impressive to us 10 year olds.  Prepare your baby to be that popular with these fun ways to celebrate President’s Day…

Uncle Goose Presidents Block Set- $98 (I want these!- for my boys I mean)

Hail to the Chief Letterpress Print- $44 (that’s just $1 per president!) from 1canoe2

Hail to the Chief Letterpress Print

Presidents: Fandex Family Field Guides- $11 (we have this for my 5 yo)

Or you can put this puzzle together and frame it-
Great American Presidents Puzzle- $12

We’ll be celebrating today with a playdate!  I hope you’re enjoying a “day off” as well.

Thanks to Baby Chic 101 for the heads up on this one!  Don’t know how I missed that on Facebook.

They Posted These So I Don’t Have To

These are some of my favorite posts from around the web over the past week.

Coos & Ahhs posted her finds from Toy Fair 2011.  Part 1 and Part 2 covered tons of fun finds.  It’s like being there, but without all the walking!  Plus it’s too cold for me in New York this time of year!

I loved this nursery featured on Nursery Notations this week.  I particularly love the art over the changing table and the fabric used for the bedding.  It’s a very calm and peaceful nursery.

My other favorite nursery tour was Finn’s Room, which was featured on ohdeedoh.  It’s simple, clean and beautiful.  I love the gray stripes and the pops of orange.

I’m glad Bambino Goodies posted about Ikea’s new Duktig workbench.   We saw it at Ikea last week and I’d have gotten one if we didn’t already have a toy workbench.

Finally, the Monster Mash post on With Two Cats was fantastic.  Nine fun monster finds!
