“Best High Chair That Isn’t An Eye Sore” 2011 Cribsie Finalists

The third category I’d like to introduce you to is “Best High Chair That Isn’t An Eye Sore“. Four of the finalists are on my high chair guide at buymodernhighchairs. I think there are some more choices out there if you’re really looking for something that’s not an eye sore but I’ll let you all decide. Here are the six finalists:
Boon’s Flair high chair is a beautiful, easy to clean high chair featuring a pneumatic lift for perfect height adjustment and a tray that actually fits in the dishwasher. It is also BpA-free, Phtalate-free and PVC-free. New colors are coming in the spring so keep and eye out for Kiwi/Coconut, Red/Coconut and Coconut/Blue Raspberry!

Chicco’s Polly Magic high chair adjusts to 6 heights, 3 angles and 3 footrest heights. It comes in this Silver Vinyl/Leatherette upholstery combo.

Peg-Perego’s Prima Pappa is another upholstered seat.

Stokke’s Tripp Trapp is the classic wooden “grow with you” chair. I love its multi-functionality and range of 12 beautiful colors to suit every decor.

The Svan Chair is an ergonomic wooden chair that features a 3-point safety harness and environmentally friendly finishes. This chair can last from 6 months to adulthood.

Inglesina’s Zuma high chair features a modern design and fun colors. It is easy to fold up, transport and clean.

Which will you vote for? Let me know if your favorite didn’t make the list.
Oh goody! It looks like Bloom has dropped the price of the Fresco and Fresco Loft to $310 and $410 respectively. These are the prices Giggle lists. Those prices are still a little steep for me–I’d want the Loft if I were going to get one, but at least the price isn’t AS crazy as it was. (In fact, I don’t understand why they don’t just stop making the Fresco and only make the Loft–the only difference is that the Loft goes up to a breakfast bar and honestly if I am paying that much for a high chair, I think breakfast bar height should just be a standard feature.) Oh well, I can dream on about this high chair, but maybe someone else will be happy with the price reduction.
Oops! I was wrong. I just noticed that price was the frame only. Ughh! Can you tell I really want this high chair–at a reasonable price. LOL
AHHH! Your the BEST Esther! Your too good to your readers! I entered! I hope either you or I win! Fingers crossed!
Boon gets my vote.

Do not buy the Chicco high chair! It is terrible! There are so many nooks and crankies that food gets stuck in. I regret choosing this chair for my son, and I am currently looking for a new chair. UGH!
IKEA high chairs recalled

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the ANTILOP high chairs have restraining strap buckles that can fail, allowing a child to fall out of the chair.
The ANTILOP high chairs were sold in red, blue and white. They have plastic chairs with detachable silver-colored metal legs.
The high chairs included in the recall have a manufacture date between June 2007 and September 2011 from supplier number 17389.
The production date and supplier number are molded into the underside of the seat.
The high chairs were sold exclusively at IKEA stores nationwide from August 2006 through January 2010 for about $20.
Consumers were advised to stop using the high chairs and contact IKEA to obtain a free replacement seat restraint.

Boon gets my vote!
I am surprised Bloom’s Fresco didn’t make the list. That is my “dream” high chair, but it’s just too expensive! I also like Ikea’s Antilop, you can’t beat that price! For booster seats, Mutsy’s Grow Up looks great, too.
